Players of a similar level tend to share similar concerns so I understand why its-just-me was concerned about starting a new style and having difficulty catching up proficiency to your level. I did just this with 1H and Heavy Armor recently, trying to keep my level fixed while grinding proficiency.

What I found in the end was, this isn't any concern at low-to-medium proficiency, as the new proficiency gains are so great that it dwarfs even the proficiency/level ratio you would have reasonably achieved under the old system. Plus you finish in a few battles at high difficulty, versus a month of tedious grinding at low difficulty the old way.

At high proficiency near your level, there is a period where I might have preferred the old way. However it will only be a few days from this point until your proficiency actually surpasses your level, at which point you can have no complaint in terms of the power your character achieved. (On the other hand, granting more power is not necessarily a good thing for the game overall).

Part of what used to make proficiency interesting was that it was gained linearly while experience was gained on a curve. It made for alternative ways to play, but it seems Tenboro didn't like players grinding on low difficulty. Maybe adding a difficulty modifier to the old proficiency system could have worked.

Range for skills probably changed, along with the tweaks to the gifts' quality levels.
Your monsters probably are in that range.

Btw, how long for the proficiency update? Not my intention to rush anyone but, back in the day 10b said that weekend wasn't okay for downtime, yet 3 or 4 weeks passed.
I just wanted to know if there were some issues or if the date was postponed and, in case, know such date.


Also, any news about the hath perks that should change their price in a while?

The change is on the main database, not the HV database, and at the very least it has to be done during low-ish traffic hours. We don't have those in the weeks around Comiket.

Dawns do happen on Galleries. Shared things like EXP, level, credits, hath and GP are global, not HV-only. And since Galleries servers don't talk to the HV database directly, adding a separate field to tally dawn EXP avoids an uglier and more expensive hack that would also be prone to drop EXP.

How the ever-loving fuck is anyone complaining about prof gains being too low?


I don't grind much, so about half of my exp comes from the Dawn events. (Maybe more, didn't really count)

My current level is 469, and my exp is sitting on exactly half way to 470. I only play with heavy armor, and my current heavy armor proficiency is 468.1, with Assimilator level 3.

Is it slow? Yes, it's very slow. But those bonus don't really affect much at this level, so I won't put more effort on this just to catch up.

Some of us have too much privilege many bonuses. They certainly have added up over the years.

My gains are barely enough as for now, and it will be worse at each level up. And my exp modifiers are quite high (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/duck.gif)

Final costs of other trainings are 10^n (1,000,...) or 10^n-1 (9,999,...), but Assimilator is not.
