Let us be able to see how many times our galleries have ever been paid for with the doggybag. Similar to torrents, only not visible to other people.

To repeat myself from here: please make the misc limit less screwly to good uploaders like myself, by adding something like "+1 misc for each 10 non-limit affected galleries uploaded". Can exclude imagesets if one wants to limit the potential for any abuse further.

No, it hasn't. I've been doing backend work for the last two months. You just can't see it, outside of stuff being faster and the site rarely 503ing anymore.

Well, with traffic growing by 5-10% per month, storage requirements growing by 10-15% per month and database size growing by 10-15% per month, not prioritizing the backend would mean the site wouldn't be working at all.

In November 2009, the compressed dump of the database was 480MB and the entire image backup fit on one 750 GB drive.

Today, the compressed dump is 3.5 GB (~25 GB live size) and the image backup is on eight 2TB drives.

To put it in other words: it's okay to request things, but don't whine about the particular thing you want not being done.

Dunno. Calculating what files are only in use by expunged galleries would be incredibly database-intensive.

For the database, it's negligible, even more so for the improved backend I'm working on.

Eh, I'd say average 10 expunges a day. At least half are always dupes.

Ten? No way. Just checked today and yesterday: 25~ today, 30~ yesterday.
And that's just from the new galleries on the first few pages.

We're still getting lots of new content though? Or mostly imagesets, and dupes and new scans of the same old galleries? I go through years-old galleries currently, so I rarely see the first page.

Since I look at new dojins every day, I'd say there is a steady flow of new content (new to the site, both in the form of scans of new stuff and old stuff), but I am not sure about proportions or long term trends. Last time I run some analysis few gave a damn, so I stopped bothering.

Do you think you could make it so that the torrents are searchable like the galleries are so that you can find the torrent you want, or the torrent uploader whose torrents you like to download?

I'd kinda like to be able to search the torrents for certain users to see how many torrents they've uploaded (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Let us have a list of favorite tags.
This can be used to quickly filter stuff to personal taste.
Also, web-site can use this to offer galleries to the user (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

i did not browse all the replies so forgive me if this has already been discussed but is there anyway that the tag search could be modified so that it is possible to search for all galleries minus the tag.

for instance if i searched -translated or -Spanish it would display everything but those tags because as far as i can tell i can only use a - search term when i have a positive tag or maybe even one tag that is unifying because even in doujinshi if you search doujinshi you will not get all the galleries
