Just an ideia...
I remember when I tried to publish a dupe gallery, the system said that already had a gallery with the same name. There's a way to make the system scan for 2~3 similarity images before you upload an entire gallery, or before you publish it?
Seems to be a good way to prevent dupes.

I request the ability to filter out scanlations.
Non-English scanlations are all garbage to me, so I'd like to easily be able to filter them out somehow. They just clutter the search results, and are especially annoying when they are not labeled properly.
My suggestion would be adding two new categories, One for English scanlations and the other for Non-English scanlations. English scanlations would get its own category, simply because it is a much larger scene. This way, both English-speaking people and everyone else would be able to filter to their liking.

Or, since most if not all translations are tagged with the language, you could just put "english" in the search box.

You misunderstood, I'm not looking exclusively for scanlations at all. I just want to filter out all the non-English scanlations when I search for an author, circle or just a doujinshi title.

Then, I don't know, maybe you could add "english" to your search. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

I am NOT looking for just English scanlations. I AM ALSO LOOKING FOR ALL THE RAWS RELATED TO AN ARTIST OR CIRCLE. Here, I'll make an example: Making a search for Kisaragi Gunma yields three types of results: 1: Raws 2: English scanlations 3: Non-English scanlations I want to make that search, without having to sift through pages and pages of category 3. Do I make myself clear? Losing patience here. Wow.

For right now you'll have to do it as two searches I think, add english to one and -translated to the other? I can't seem to come up with a way to do !(translated && !english) unless there's more search logic available than just + - '' ? and *

Good idea, but sadly it seems like translations are rarely tagged with "-translated".

You expect to be able to get both raws and English in a single search? Um, no. QUOTE(KithKanan @ Apr 22 2010, 10:16) For right now you'll have to do it as two searches I think, add english to one and -translated to the other?
Even that won't work because "translated" isn't added to all galleries.

I know, that's why I posted a suggestion in a thread called "E-Hentai Galleries feature requests" to make it possible to do so.

Hmm, yeah, I see what you mean. Guess all that can be done right now is to - search the languages that show up the most that won't bring you over the search term limit. -spanish -chinese -german -french -italian would seem to take care of most of them but would leave you only 3 terms left for your main search. One thing to keep in mind is phrase searches (in quotes) only count as one term each, and you can use the * wildcard in the middle of them which really does give you a lot of flexibility with just one search term. Sounds like you just want to omit other different languages. Try using subtraction symbol in search engine, that should let you exclude other language you don't need. Here's an example: Kisaragi Gunma -spanish - german This the resultThis post has been edited by Kir: Apr 22 2010, 19:35

Thanks, I'll keep the line ready to be copy+pasted when I'm in for some heavy lurking. Though, of course I'd rather my suggestion get attention to save me the hassle. Was kinda hoping I wasn't the first to address this when I posted, too.

Agreed. Tenboro, guessing it would be a pain in the ass to implement, but any chance of a non-master metatag grouping the non-english languages?

Might not be that of a pain, and I can see other potential uses.

I dont know if I should ask this, or if it even belongs here but, if I review a work in the Fjords, will I still get G.P ?

Yes because the fjords are connected to the main galleries.

After looking at the discussion here, how about making a separate expunge option for compilations? It is true that not all compilations are dupes, and that confuses some people.

Working through the lists of old expunges and renames, here's another idea: how about a list of tags that are used once? Most of them are trash. We could also use listings of tags used twice, thrice, etc.

I want to suggest making Expunges Log more visible - lots of uploaders have no idea such a thing exists, as they never click on Petition to Expunge, probably thinking it'll make them vote immediately, and we often have to tell people who ask why their gallery was expunged about the log.
