QUOTE(cmal @ Nov 12 2009, 04:35) However, according to [ dev.chromium.org] this, Chrome doesn't support the unsafeWindow command, which is supposedly used by BB to load jQuery (which isn't used by the Hath Exchange script). I don't even know why unsafeWindow is being used, since its advised against, and I don't know what the alternatives would be, so I can't really do anything about it. I'll read up on it, but I can't guarantee anything. D'oh! I was hoping it wasn't something like that. Good luck on your research! Maybe Gillian could tell you why unsafeWindow is used, and might know of alternatives?

unsafeWindow is used because it's the easy way to call javascript commands on the hv site.

Basically. And its really only used by the section of the code that's supposed to make it work for Chrome. I haven't been able to find an alternative for loading jQuery with Chrome yet; most of the documentation is for using it on a webpage rather than within a userscript.

In order to be a bit more scientific about my claim that Chrome runs HV faster than Firefox, I did a controlled test. I timed 30 rounds of Cakefest (restarting the grind each time) in Chrome, Firefox, and Firefox with every addon disabled. I disabled BB in Firefox for both tests, since it's not available in Chrome. I ran every test back to back, so that differences in server load would be least likely to have an effect on the times. I chose CakeFest because it's easy enough at pre-round 50 that I can ignore my health and just spam melee attacks. In every test I also threw in a Shield and Poison cast every time my Mana bar filled up, for a little prof gain.
Here's the times I came up with: Chrome: 8:58 Firefox: 16:25 Firefox w/out Addons: 13:32
The only hiccup I had was that for several later rounds in the Firefox w/out Addons test, the page would completely redraw the monster's boxes, which took about an extra half second of extra time per turn. I'm not sure why that was happening, but it only lasted about 4 rounds.
So it looks like Chrome is definitely faster than Firefox, on my machine, regardless of which Firefox addons I'm running. Has anyone else tried Chrome and noticed an increase in load speeds over Firefox?

Someone needs to debug this for Opera. It doesn't save stats and the settings can't be altered, but otherwise it works correctly.

Any Opera users willing to step up? I'm having a hard enough time already trying to wrap my head around getting it to work properly in Firefox. My guess is its because of the way FF handles cookies and how the script uses functions that hack cookies to use as storage.

That's what it says on the Chromium dev page I linked earlier.

BB(E) stopped working in battles (and only while battle is going on), for some weird reason. Does the support site got down or something?
EDIT: Strange, then I speedhits the enemy via keyboard numbers (and so, cause hi-speed page reloading), it flashes up to work for an instant, but when I stops, it also stops working...
EDIT: It flicks on and of seemingly completely on random...

I'm using it right now in battle and it seems to be working fine. I just went directly to the address for the resource files and its connecting. Check your round count before finishing a round, finish the round and check it again, then load a new page and check the round count again. It could be a cookie issue if the round count is not changing. If not, then I have no idea what could be wrong, everything seems fine.

Well, for starters, it doesn't sows up in the beginning of the fight...
I gone ahead and deleted the cookies -- didn't do any good except now it doesn't even show monsters' HP (prior cookie deletion it showed, then it decided to flash up). Also, prior to cookie deletion round counter was 56 always. Now -- non at all.
Anyway, I guess it just me being extra lucky.
EDIT: Also, it shows mob weaknesses and resistances completely wrong. Maybe it is just MY copy of script gor damaged somehow?

Did that -- no improvements. Thats just soo ... random!
*sigh* Well, now only thing left for me is to pray it just ends bu itself, just like it started.
EDIT: Now this gets interesting: some random turn. BBE doesn't show up. I close the Firefox and reopens it, BBE shows up! ...To be gone on the next turn...

Yeah, all I can suggest is try updating/reinstalling GM, restarting your computer, that kind of stuff.
