difficulty i couldn't really tell you, but back then i was pretty much just screwing around playing on normal through all the arenas (it's only in the past 5 lvls or so that i've been doing the first few arenas on battletoads)

Grind your weapon on normal as a bazooka mage (one shot eveything with electric), and see how much hp you get compared to grindfest.

my elec attacks aren't strong enough for that

Exquisite ethereal emerald rapier of the Cheetah (lvl.129) = 10k exp (battletoads - panda/cookie)
Legendary sapphire longsword (lvl.145) = 21k exp (battletoads - whale/panda/ghost)

i'm too lazy to go in and out to try and get the same exact battle

My mysterious box Magnificent Sapphire Axe of Balance? I never posted it. I sure loved that thing and used it for so long but it was only level 155 so I started using something else. I'm never going to part with it.

And congrats on your Legendary sword, Pandawhore. Was that your mysterious box gift?

Lucky. I don't get any good equipment drops at all anymore. I rarely even get artifacts.

usually just crude-avg... and a few fines... all with shitty stats

Yeah, HV kinda blows these days. Hito retired from it, Boggy just retired and I'm semi-retired from it. When you get to the really high levels, the outrageous EXP amounts you need to reach the next level isn't worth the monotony of the game. I have the biggest spirit attack on the planet and that's all but worthless, which makes it suck even more.

But you need to get back up to a really high level with us and retire, too. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Luck of draw, yes, but the 3 other no it's less, but anyway considering I played a lot more hours, they don't affect the outcome, besides there are a few players with LoD higher and didn't got the same luck.
