Info for those of you that wonder but can't be bothered to test.
If you use shield spell, it's much more important to choose armor with high mitigation than high absorption.
It's pretty logical even without testing.
If an enemy hits you for 3000 damage, it's better to reduce it by a percentage, boosted by shield spell, than remove about 25 points of damage from that 3000 damage hit.
