Hey!

I thought about this today:

There is a "Bounty" page, but not a "Give me a Job" page.

For example, I'm a "merchant". I want to sell a service: "I will translate you from French to English a page and provide a script for 5k credits (per page)."

People could offer their help for credits:

"I can clean and make the edition and the typeset of one page for 25k credits (Up to xx pages) for you".
"I can decensor a page for 500k credits."
"I can translate a page from Japanese to English for 300k credits."
[...]

And then there would be a feedback for each "merchant", stars, etc.

I thought about it because I like the bounties, but it's always the same thing, there, I never saw someone asking for a French to English translation, yet I would like to practice it... Instead I'm doing English to French, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who can offer a service, even a low-priced one, but never finds someone who would be interested through the bounty process. I think people could be interested if they see an offer, but wouldn't create a bounty for it.

And, it could be more efficient and faster than posting a bounty and wait weeks, months, until someone fills it.

And a section on the website, not on the forum, would make it more visible and would encourage more people to offer services.

+1 to this suggestion

No objection to this, but I doubt it would encourage more scanlators. Nowadays, mostly only new users need haths/credits (since there is no big demand for them besides HV/hath perks). A lot of the scanlators just want money / have more than enough haths/credits. A nice thing about bounty is that other people can also contribute, and fulfilling a bounty may be enough for a lifetime of EH.

Yeah, in total agreement with rraven314.

Not trying to shout an idea down, Falcolight, but for one I'd be shocked to see the site create some entirely new feature like this (i.e. just as you yourself say " a section on the website"), and two because this is exactly what the forums/Cove of Scanlators subforum already exists for.

I'm not sure exactly what examples you looked at.......there are indeed lots of threads offering services for real money........but there are also many, many examples of just what you're talking about......"hey, I can do this/will do this/got this, who's interested and how many credits/hath is it worth to you/this is how much I'd like to get for it" threads too.

There's nothing wrong with asking for credits in there.

You're also allowed a bump per day if the thread has not been bumped. Another useful thing to say is what fetishes you're very keen of doing and which fetishes you would never do (that may sound strange but there is language specific to fetishes, and if you do not read a fetish you may not know it)

That said, since the website itself is in english and is meant to remain that way I do not think that translations *from* english are a good idea in the first place. Only people that can read english well enough would be capable of asking for the service. Or in case you state that you can be reached in a different language (by PM for example), the forums are definitely a better fit for such communication.

I would recommend making a thread in Cove of Scanlators similar to Scanlators for money for a list of scanlators translating for EH currency (btw I posted in that thread, and there was no response in around a week, so I'm more pessimistic. Most people who scanlate for hath/credits would probably just use the current bounty system).

^ this is the *bad* week. Mad people playing endless HV to get one trophy. It is probably fun though.

Another thing is that some people too lazy (or busy) to post bounties although have works to be translated in mind, and a fuckload of credits/hath to pay for it. (<-- yeah that's me)

Maintaining a bounty requires work: remember to bump it, answer potential hunters, etc. Therefore going around asking for bounties also requires some work. And just like with normal bounties, adding some notes to the signature is a good idea (for marketing)
