It means:
- No more databases and APIs (it's also worth for the API bounty)
- No more auctions and no more newb-friendly WTB
- No more managing the FreeSHop (sorry pooaa, it's nothing against you: I wish you the best of luck)
- No more contributing to the wiki
- No more advising and helping the players in whatever way
I'll only keep my WTS open for what's left in it to sell, and I'll still be there for a friendly chat. But nothing else.
The reasons? There you go:
- I am fed up serving as medical assistance, a bandaid for a dying game which I don't play at all anymore.
- I am fed up reading a never ending list of promises and plans made by Tenboro, while not seeing any being done. YOu understand why now. Given the number of years, absolutely none of the excuses that could be given will be accepted. Unless major circumstances, which I won't believe at this point anyway.
- I am done with paying (with my own pocket) a high price for servers that generate hath I don't need anymore and that can barely keep me in the Top 50. Servers = over 500€ a year. If I count the database server alone, it's still 150€ a year. Event when it comes to the databse service itself, it doesn't seem really be of any use anymore anyway.
- I am tired working several hours a week for auctions that net me peanuts and a market that is ever more miserable. Same goes for my WTB.
- I want the playerbase to realize that this game would be an absolute misery without the people who desperetely try everything to keep it from bleeding profusely. It's just too easy to let us carry all the burden (no pun intended) and do as if everything was okay.
- Because no, things are not OK at all. And that's what I want everyone to realize.
- In a general way, I refuse to be an actor of this large farce. Unlike some people, I will not cling to the game desperately, pretend that everything is OK, and I don't have any interest to keep going here. I was not doing all of this to get any rewards or attention, but simply because I liked it and I liked the game.
Beyond being tolerant, patient, having hope, being optimistic, there is being outright stupid and gullible. And I'm neither stupid nor gullible. I consider that at this point, I have waited waaaayyyy enough, probably too much already. So I think that I have to use my small bit of influence to deliver the fair sentence for abusing
everyone's patience and kindness just so that the work doesn't get done for ever longer.
GUILTYI don't want explanations, excuses, plans, to be told problems or be given pointless hopes. I want
actions, things to be done and that should have been done years ago already. I want a fucken, enjoyable
game that allows me to play decently the way I've always wanted to play, with the equipment that I've earned with way too much efforts for what they are really worth. Not that
unrewarding piece of crap of an endless and hopeless grind that can only be played half decently as mage with a very specific setup.
This decision is definitive, final. As I often say: people realize the value of things only once they lose them. And let me tell you that even though I have everything (databases+APIs) backed up, I have no intentions of handing anything to anyone until the needful finally gets done. Even if we ever get the update that was promized to us, it's still
too late. As for the FreeSHop, since it's not my property, I'll let the admins do what they want with it, that's not my problem anymore. I do encourage to shut it down just as well, to get the message across.
Needless to say, but I'll say it anyway: I'll Seiga punch anyone who will give me any excuse or the 54879th promise/lie that was half-assedly written. I'll be entirely deaf to any crying, protests, flame, or any discussion regarding this very harsh and sudden decision. I'll only believe an actual update, in which case I
may (which is not guaranteed) decide to play again a bit and hand stuff to whoever needs it.
My last word: I don't expect anything to happen just because I've decided to stop with the bullshit. But if it does get things to move at least a bit, well there's that. I am enjoying myself somewhere else, away from this Hopeless Masquerade, spending my money
and time in things that are a tad bit more meaningful.
