How big is the current proxy bid limit? I see a single person having 10 proxy bids, if everything ending in #xx.5 is one.

I believe it's referring to how many times you could proxy bids on one item, not how many number of active proxy bids you could have.

the minimum proxy bid isn't meant to limit the usage of proxy bid, but more into making people put their "best offer" as proxy bid instead of gradually increasing their proxy bid like conventional bid.

The proxy bid limit refers to the amount of times you can edit your proxy bid on an individual item (ie, upgrading it because your first one wasn't your true maximum). There is no limit on how many items you can bid on using proxy bids.

Also, the .5 notation refers to post count at the time of the last update to that bid - .5 would be 'between' posts, because a proxy bid doesn't have an actual post to refer to.

I had that just earlier today, no errors in console, but it started working normally after some time passed. Looks like some internal hiccup.


Thanks for the clarification on the proxy bids, I never realized it it was for a specific item as I always use it as bet and forget with max amount I would bet for something.

1) If the seller got them back, then since I have seen the very same seller of that bid offers the same bindings in his shop for a bit less, I'd order them there.

iirc his script already had a bit of troubles back then, when items started to have three digits. but he's usually willing to address things as quick as possible, so let's just wait another bit. tomorrow he'll surely be online to check auctions...

Sorry about that, there was a temporary encoding issue with the generated BBCode last time, and sending mails to people with non-ASCII characters in their names failed, which I didn't notice until later. Should be all good now

it's an already known problem, BWS. apparently unicode characters broke something

The problem was that the username contained double-byte characters, which are difficult to deal with but thankfully extremely rare (in names, at least). I'm patching it by replacing the problematic username with normal characters when it's seen, and then replacing with the double-byte characters again on my end after the auction's over, when I'm sending mails. Should be fixed now

if latanium's script works by copy/pasting the whole text everytime and then merely updating prices

Pretty much, it looks at the text returned by the Edit interface, then iterates over lines, removing whatever's after the "( Seller: ...)" part and replacing it with the most up-to-date data for that item code.

(Also, the server's last update is epoch - that doesn't look good either (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) )

That's an intentional hack done when proxy bids are saved, right before an update occurs, to ensure that the update is guaranteed to go through, and doesn't get rate-limited due to a possible prior update that occurred a few seconds previously. (though, it was never supposed to be visible, since server logs should change as soon as the new update goes through...)

Could you explain the technical details about why it went mad adding backslashes before each character? Really interested in exactly what happened there (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

I think we need a rule to prevent thig like that to happen, unveil the max proxybid of a player in this way is just not right.

And more if i want to cancel my bid i cannot because proxybid don't give the possibility.

This should already be the case:

Bids made via forum post can be canceled by typing itemcode cancel in a subsequent post before the last 24 hours of the auction, but should not be done after. If you mistype, you can edit your post to invalidate your bid if you have not revealed a proxy bid.

I guess it only applies to edited posts and not new posts made to cancel the bid? (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif)

I think it apply to all bids made that wway that reveal a proxy bid... but i don't know what are the consequences.
