I think I'm pretty tolerant of weird equips that don't really fit in the current competitive meta, like arcanist and battlecaster and such. I list them, and people do generally buy them, even if it's just for the sheer novelty value. I don't think I've ever returned those types. (they're pretty rare in the first place after all, so there's not much harm regardless)
I think I'm also generally tolerant of gears under level 330 or so, I almost never reject them even if they don't strictly pass the standards. (If you aren't seeing many of those gears, which you aren't, it's because there are very few players at that level who play actively and are involved in the forum market)
A note on low-level stuff. Past ~330, low to medium-tier gears (like unremarkable Mags) are generally pretty available in shops, and those sorts of gears almost never get bid on - that's what I'd like to cull. Lowish quality gears under ~330 also often don't get bid on, but the difference is that OK gears at so low a level are generally difficult to find in shops, so giving them some visibility in an auction is understandable, even if the chance of getting a bid is low. Such low-level gears don't get bids not because they're not worth 50k, but because the level 250-330~ player base who might be kinda interested is pretty small, so it's kind of unusual to get the right sort of person who needs an upgrade in a certain slot to look at the auction during the right week and then bid on it.

Why do you ask for our opinion then?

He didn't ask for opinions, he asked if anyone objects, you objected, he fully answered your concerns (about low level player). Since no one made any valid objection I guess he will go forth with his idea, like it should be.

Just got an idea for extension, right here, right now.
Normal bid increase during extensions is valid only within 5 minutes from the last bid.
Then from the sixth to the fifteenth it's higher, for example the old 10% for high bids and then something like 100k and 50k for the lower ones (200<X<500 and X<200).
It could work.

I'd say let people use strategic bidding if they want.

Selfish request. Would it be possible to display bid-cancellations somewhere in the bid log or for that matter anywhere else (on reasoningtheory)? Was kind of confused where some bids ended up until i checked the post#2 log (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) Currently the bids just disappear from the bid log, i'd suggest something alike to the following # 1 canceled bid Z on Item A # 1 bid Z on Item A # 2 bid Y on Item A# 1 bid X on Item A italic = operation bold = green highlighted in log for high bid //E: wording This post has been edited by simrock87: Feb 18 2017, 14:48

No problem, thanks for considering it and giving it some thought. I do understand cost<->effect (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

QUOTE(Nanoha_Prayer @ Feb 25 2017, 02:15) Just curious, why did you paint these two similar weapons in different color? [One01] Legendary Ethereal Rapier of Slaughter (445, ADB 97%, Parry 25%) auction #47[One01] Legendary Ethereal Rapier of Slaughter (428, ADB 91%, Parry 25%) auction #49Oh, good point, the current One01 is great and should be red instead of plain. The coloring (and bolding and so on) is automatic, based on the name of the equip. Eg. Peerless, Radiant, and Power Slaughter are always red. Problem is, given the wide variety of equip types and ranges, it's not so easy to determine which should be emphasized and which shouldn't just based on the equip name - so sometimes before posting the auction I go through the list and color in (or de-color) equips manually. A while ago, Legendary Rapiers of Slaughter had become too common, and I started using bold only, rather than bold + red. But I noticed that that equip from #47 was quite valuable, and so I highlighted it (and I should have done the same to this one).

piyin has recalled Lig01 for "my reasons i have." (unclear what happened, but the item is listed again)
A reminder to everyone that this sort of thing has been (and still is) not allowed after the start of the auction if done on a whim rather than as a result of a mistake. If you want to ensure your item sells for at least some price, you can set a minimum bid (while increasing the risk of getting no bids at all) - but try to consider that before the start of the auction, rather than retracting it after people have had a chance to bid on it.
I know a lot of gears (even Peerless) often don't go for much, outside of a few highly desirable categories. I don't like it either, but that's the natural result of common high-quality Legendaries past 0.81.

Can you provide a historical searchable list of prices of all the items sold? SmartSearch doesn't search through edited titles with hyphens and some of the earlier auction threads doesn't exist anymore.

Cache them in SmartSearch database when the threads still exist. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/duck.gif) And lose the database after reinstalled browser or OS. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/faint.gif)

I think they do, see the links at the bottom: [ reasoningtheory.net] https://reasoningtheory.net/And I can still see them in the thread list in the forum (they're many pages back though, so you'll have to click a lot...)

I was searching my name to check my previous bids and one specific thread (#50) wasn't showing up, guess I didn't save it in time. QUOTE(morineko @ Apr 18 2017, 19:15) I found the key. Probably better than searching after changing thread filters as it'll index every WTS thread This post has been edited by kyouri: Apr 18 2017, 14:39
