I've habitually started the auction a few hours after Wednesday's dawn, but that was more copying what others had done in the past rather than a conscientious decision on my part.
I've noticed that the thread often goes completely inactive for 6+ hours between the rush at the beginning and the rush at the end. So, unless anyone's opposed to it, I want to start it later, maybe around Thursday's dawn (lasts ~2.5 days) rather than current procedure (lasts ~3.3 days).
It's not like it costs me anything to have the thread up, but it seems better to have it up mostly just during the time it's going to be used.

Personally I like being able to see the weekly items as early as possible so I know what items are available for bidding. However, since you have the auction preview it doesn't matter that much. Only benefit from early start is that I can see from the early bids if I have a chance for an item or not. Someone else might also benefit from seeing the early bids to see if they need to get extra funds for an item they want. If I recall correctly, your auction preview doesn't have the starting prices listed either. As I see it, if there is no downside to having the thread up early, you might as well put it up as usual. I guess starting the thread later would allow more time to submit new items in the auction, which is not a bad thing either.

I have come to expect the Wednesday auctions, but I do not have any particular attachment to Wednesdays specifically. This post has been edited by DamienCash: Jan 4 2017, 01:47

That's why you should proxy bid in advance, instead of waiting until the last minute (which not only increases the chance of missing things entirely, but is also kinda rude to other participants).

I wasn't checking auctions at all before that moment... and discovered about that feature while it was already closed.

QUOTE(DCFulano @ Jan 26 2017, 05:49) I can't access the site, I get timeout Apparently it's just me (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/anime_cry.gif) It's not just you, occasionally my host has outages, but they usually don't last long. Usually. It's either due to hardware issues or due to load issues caused by other users on the network; it's out of my control, unfortunately. Btw, I'm trying to be more strict on gear these days. I don't think anyone likes seeing mountains of stuff in the "50k at most" range. This post has been edited by Superlatanium: Jan 26 2017, 07:59

I do, if the stuff is low level enough.

Recently I've been trying to take a harder line on submissions that don't fulfill the requirements in this post under the assumption that most people don't like seeing long lists of mostly junk that'll likely go for no bids. I think auctions are the place to advertise decent and better gears, and are not a catch-all for borderline-to-worse gears to give desparate sellers a tiny chance of profiting 50k. I don't want my auction to become a collection of long lists of likely-no bid junk equips, which it (kinda) has been at certain points in the past. Does anyone object?

I'm looking at your auction for radiant, not radish.

Surprisingly, Radiant Radish used to be a real store.

I would like to see the occasional odd-ball in auction. Like a rapier of the battlecaster, I had one in auction, price estimate was 50k max but it sold better. No need to have a long list of 30% EDB elemental prefixed phase of high level. But an occasional gamble would be nice. Could you maybe limit it to 10? That you give 10 wildcards? Or you could even let the community vote - no that's too much hassle I guess. But I would love to see 10 odd-balls in each auction.

I think that your requirements to send equipments are too restrictive. In particular prefixes and suffixes, they still have good chances to remain interesting for low level players.
Anyway, you can make all the restrictions you want, there will be (many) unsold items.
