QUOTE(Sapo84 @ Oct 28 2016, 21:07) Just curious, what happened to Jenga's estoc?
I saw blackjac00 and Amiya doing bidwar till 46.35M proxy from Amiya , then the price jumping to 90+M, Amiya cancelling, blackjac00 45M winning for a few minutes and now the max bid is again 46.35M proxy from Amiya.
There is nothing about Two01 on the thread so I guess hidden proxy bid happened? I think they should be tracked in that case (I wouldn't like seeing my bid raised without knowing who did that).
Fri 03:39 #108.5 [Proxy] Superlatanium Bid 90000k Two01 Peerless Ethereal Estoc of Slaughter I cancel my bid for Superlatanium (IMG:[ scontent.fbkk10-1.fna.fbcdn.net] https://scontent.fbkk10-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t35.0-12/14876000_1635584606733216_2009082052_o.png?oh=6cc13f7ad2c3288cb7def6282cd19436&oe=5815AF7D) I do appeciated Superlatanium auction. It seems like both you and Super canceled the bids, though. I wonder if his bid was just accidental.

I was still wondering why there was such a bid war on an outclassed item, but I wouldn't worry about that. A very decent bid is still winning, and can't be canceled (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) And yeah, probably super's bid was accidental. If not, it would've not been canceled along with amiya's

Yeah, I was saying that if someone offers more than 20m, is not for salvaging purposes (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

well , even 90m bid is still below the original price of that estoc when jenga bought it with 100m in 2014 (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)

It was my fault, a combination of things screwed me up. I did legitimately bid on it at first because, well, Peerless and full forging (and my hunch is 2h will become a lot better in the future). But then I realized the forging wasn't worth what I thought it was, especially since past P stats are notably lower than what they are now (and it's arguably unfair for me to bid at all unless I end up winning) I removed the bid but in the process remembered there was a (rare) related bug I hadn't completely fixed yet, one that would sometimes cause proxy bids to fail. If anyone cares, the problem came from when someone had 2 active proxy bids, both higher than the current winning bid, and another person submits an amount lower than both of those. The updater goes through all proxy bids on an item, identifying the highest bidder (or tied highest bidder who submitted earlier) and the second-highest bidder, and comes up with the current winner and current winning bid accordingly. But I had failed to account for the situation when both the highest and second-highest bidder were the same user (ignoring a possible other user with a lower bid, and therefore spitting out the wrong current high bid displayed on the thread).
When I started all of this, I thought auction logic was going to be pretty simple, but there's a lot more to it than I imagined, in part due to the updater having to reconstruct the entire bid chain from the beginning every time. Anyway, I took thread updating offline and was using proxy bids from me and a fake user to figure out the source problem. (that's what "TestUser00" is, a few people have probably seen him by now) I fixed it and removed everything from TestUser00, but I forgot to remove one of the bids I added as Superlatanium (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) I shouldn't have been experimenting with a high value item code or one someone else had an active proxy bid on, at the time I was just thinking about fixing it (and forgot to look at the thread later to see that everything was back to how it should be). Sorry for confusion. Didn't mean to get your hopes up, Jenga (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) This post has been edited by Superlatanium: Oct 29 2016, 09:27

are you sure? i did a bit of math and i found that only AGI roll was changed relevantly - that P is now Lmin.

The base WD of that estoc is only 0.8 lower (yes, less than a point) than today's estocs. Maybe I should have made that clear, but the stats for that weapon are not nerfed in any significant way. I used the gossamer, yeah. When I bought it, it was top tier. Most other pieces are better than it now, though. (it's for mats)

I just quickly chopped up a script to see material price per unit in the auction. Would probably break at the slightest change in the auction interface, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Requires browser with ES6 support. [preview]
sailmupl.user.js.txt ( 1.61k )
Number of downloads: 41——— Not needed anymore; price per unit is now shown in Superlatanium's auction platform. This post has been edited by FabulousCupcake: Nov 10 2016, 10:09

Number of downloads: 41Did you check, does it work while submitting a bid? I'd test it myself but the auction ended so I'm not in a good position to test right now. Oh, nm, it doesn't matter too much... I just realized my Mat tables have the "Info" column unused, it's not hard to change that to cost per unit without screwing up anything else. QUOTE(tsunadebusty @ Oct 29 2016, 18:56) Hi super! I have a suggestion for your auction I hope you wouldn't mind to read it heresee ya (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) I don't think removing information helps. Smart people will see the percentile and the forge level and can make an appropriate guesstimate on the base (or they can just run the equation and figure it out exactly). And less smart people (or people who don't quite care to check), of which there are some, will remain just as unknowledgable as before. If someone looks at an item in a line in the auction, doesn't understand something, and bids millions anyway without checking or asking about it... well, I don't have much sympathy, and don't want to remove potentially useful information in a probably-futile attempt to help them. I can work on adapting ranges for forging, I'll announce it if I get it done before next week
