Anyway, I don't think bothering the big guy over this is worth it either...


When I returned the equip I also mooglemailed Super, briefly explaining the situation, why I returned the item and asking him to come here to see the details... hope he does something...

HV 'mods' are more like volunteer tech support & mascot characters than the secret police (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

And I'd prefer keeping it that way - so rather than leaping to action and kicking some doors down with guns blazing, Noni's sent a couple PMs to discuss the bid cancellation stuff. We'll review it when they've had a chance to read & respond, and after that, we'll probably contact Superlatanium to see if we can work out a technical solution to this kind of bidding.

A technical solution would be that, if the system has captured a valid manual bid, and it has revealed a proxy bid, the edit log shall be considered definitive, and the bid will not be invalidated even if the post is edited.

I can see wanting to have the forum posts as a public record of the bids, but the raw user input to the proxy bidding system is already not available for public perusal. And people placing proxy bids happens much more often than people having a legitimate need to edit a post after a bid has already been captured from it.

After talking to involved parties I'm confident that they will not bid like that again. I do hope Super finds the time to address the returned equipment, that's something we can't help with.

Is that mean he can bid 141K if he want?

He could bid 141k if he put in a proxy bid at 141k. But the proxy bid amount can only be set 3 times, so it's usually not worth wasting one just to go up by only 1k.

Just send the item directly to Superlatanium and say that you want the item to be put in auction

No that's all, just gotta wait. Your Mooglemail will stay in "unread" status until Super does the magic required to prepare the auction and only when it's about to start you'll see it has changed to "read" along with a MM to notify you the auction has started or, if your equipments were rejected, they'll get sent back that instant.
