It started just after Easter, so slightly less than a month. Geez, it's amazing how I've gotten used to leveling a couple of times per week now.

I know the feeling, I was level 17/18 when I first started, I've gained 13-14 levels since. It's really insane.

Asking that question will get you the "you can't expect to not have a string of bad luck sometimes. Just because you're having problems doesn't mean there's something wrong with the system."
So suck it up R... NOW!

That in itself is ebough of an answer. I couldnt be fucked reading back to see changes so that reply would mean its just todays lack of luck. Thanks for answering my question (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Yeah, I've been having a bit of a rough patch myself. I've mostly just figured it's because I upped the difficulty, though. Sadly, bad strokes of luck happen. Four resists in a row? Yep. That sort of thing has gotten me killed a time or three. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Yeah it's been tough for me too, mainly in that my EXP has dropped a fair bit.
I'm not sure why, since it was good even after I deleted all my EXP boosts, but the last day or so I've been getting <50 on normal on hourlies

A couple more odd questions... QUOTE Spawned Monster A: MID=10 (Blue Slime) LV=21 HP=438 MP=47 SP=10 NA=98 Type=hostile
What is NA? Will there ever be any non-hostile Type monsters?

Haven't changed a thing. QUOTE(Alpha 7 @ May 14 2009, 17:51) A couple more odd questions... What is NA?
Debug output. It's short for Next Action, the time units until the monster has its first action in the battle. There used to be a lot of time outputs, that's the only one left. QUOTE Will there ever be any non-hostile Type monsters? Probably, but that's far off.

Probably, but that's far off. I'm not sure how much thought you have put into it (obviously some since you have that distinction) but you could do that two ways: 1) Have allies/neutrals that become your allies if you give them stuff which then help you smash the enemies. 2) Have neutrals that you give items in exchange for other items. I seem to recall some sort of Magic Pot enemy in a FF game that if you gave him a potion would occasionally give you an elixir.

No, they said "Gimme Elixir" and when you did you got a shit ton of EXP and AP (mostly AP). Then you just W-Item'd some more and farmed that shit. Magic Pots are always needy little shits but they show you some love.

11 4 Fire Fox crits you for 164 damage. 11 2 Effect Shield on yourself has expired.
shield doesn't expire/come into effect until the next turn, does it

Damn, its been too long since I've played an FF game. Hey, I'm going to bet that no one would complain about a similar situation here. We could all use some credits, experience, and hath...

Yup, effects expire before the baddies get their attack and apply after. That means they get a full-power hit when shield or weaken expire, even if you renew them immediately.

That is currently half-true (correct for shield but not for weaken, and not for refreshing), but the current behavior is actually bugged. Some debuffs don't actually work because the order stuff is applied doesn't allow them to take effect in time. Working on a fix for that, which will also make buffs apply right after they are cast.

[original response deleted] edit: I just tried this in Grindfest. Every time the order in the battle log was: weaken expires, then the monster attacks. However, all of the attacks that landed did 1 or 3 damage, so it seems that the effect persists even if it's listed as expired. Ebil is probably right that my fluke before was a spirit attack. maybe it just didn't hit you with a "normal" attack it's possible it wasn't using it's spirit with the other attacks, but did with that one

QUOTE(Awing01 @ May 13 2009, 14:44) Time really has been flying, I feel like HV just started, but its already been out for at least a month I think. There have been times where I did grindfest for 2 hours straight, I looked at the time and I was like wtf, oh well lets grind some more.
That's the power of an RPG. It's even worse if it's an MMORPG.

LOL... I know exactly what you mean. I remember the days when I spent countless hours playing RPGs and MMORPGs, in facts that's all I ever play maybe the occasional tactical strategy games like command and conquer.
