hmm, i only got bout 34 rounds in to normal grind using 7 godly mana draughts, although i did get held up a bit by manbearpig in the 20s, blew through some pots i probably could have used elsewhere.

just 1 spirit elixir though gained though.

I woke up late today, and took a good long piss. While I was washing my hands, I looked out the window - it was an especially windy autumn day.

just tried normalfest full plate high parry dualwield ended up going 94 rounds, although I was getting pretty lucky with second winds had like 25 mana second winds. Ended up with 4 mana elixirs, and 5 Health Elixirs.

I'm gonna hurt you. First off, I don't even have a full plate set. I've got some chainmail that could be used in place of it, but it's not plate. Second, I'm trying almost full heavy cakefest and I don't think I'm going to get that far. The damage done is so inconsistent, and I keep getting fucking critted over and over. Unless I use shield I'm still going to take between 30-60 damage from some mobs just from their regular attacks. WTF.

Thanks. I used two soul stones (which gave +120 overcharge each instead of 100 for some weird reason), two bubble gums, two last elixiers, and the rest mana elixiers.

I reached a new personal best in Cake Plate Grindfest: Round 42. Damn, was that ever fucking boring. I only made it that far because of a Level-Up carrot dangling in front of me. Once I did level-up, I fled from the boredom in the next round. HTH do you guys do 350+ Rounds of this? (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

Worst of all, my best two drops from it was [Infusion of 200 Credits] and [Godly Spirit Potion]. At least the Infusion paid for the Healer. I did only need 1 Avg Mana Draught. Still, 3 hours of my life gone. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif)

Well its not all plate I have 2 pieces of mail but they have plate-like stats still so its probably actually better. Both over 7 absorption and 4% mitigation on each. For the most part though my heavy armor gear is all stuff the higher level people sold. I think the only thing I got as a drop was my gloves. I think I was taking between 0-60 dmg with shield up, my slashing mitigation is 40 while my crushing/piercing are around 20 so there's still a pretty big variance.

The difference between chain and plate for protection can be pretty large depending on quality and suffixes. High aborsb values are ok, but you'll want pieces with high abosorb as well as high mitigation, since the latter is where most of the damage reduction comes from. It's kinda of funny cause as I mentioned before, I have a cloth robe with more absorbtion than my chain chest (high quality and of spirit ward, so works on dark spells too), but take a good deal less physical damage with the chest simply cause of physical damage mitigation, not to mention that plate tends to have better endurance than chain.

I just got to round 18 on normal, and ran into a manbearpig. With full heavy (mostly plate), and no piercing weapon. Got my ass handed to me :'(

... although actualy now that i think about it for normal i was only using 1 piece of heavy plate, i only use 3 pieces heavy for cake. on normal i use 1 piece heavy, 1 piece light, 3 pieces cloth. i take abit more damage when i get hit, but it gives me 10+ additional evade and another turn or turn of stronger regen.

Right now I'm testing out different setups for normal grind. I'm going to have to get rid of or change one of my pieces because I lost a turn of regen which is really hurting. I've got like 45% slashing, 25% crushing and 25% piercing mitigations. I'll try to switch something out that has a bit less interference but about the same mitigation - having an extra 120hp per regen will probably make a nice difference.

Essentially, I refuse to lose in normal grind until I've found enough good items. I'm about to lose, but I held on long enough that I just found 3 health elixirs in the last 4 rounds.

Edit: Just lost - round 68 - my best for normal grind. Definitely worth it. 3 Health Elixirs, several godly mana draughts and potions, and infusions (x200C ahoy).

12. 12 godly mana draughts to get to round 68 with almost all plate, and the mitigations stated above. I really want to get my last regen turn back >.<

you got higher mitigation then me and i still get further then you, strange what is your END?

i only use 6 potions and 6 draughts.
