I've beaten up to graduation just once. Haven't been able to beat "A New Beginning". More recently I've been having a hard time beating schooltastic. As for arena, the furthest I've gotten is round 4... somehow.
What kind of strategies do you use to beat the various arena levels? For me its been pure luck and hoping my attacks land and hoping the monsters don't dodge and using magic until I run out.

I 've never gotten past the third round.
I suspect the grindfest is kinder to people who have pumped lots of ability points into magic.

got up to "Then There Were Two", can't beat it tho and got up to round 12 in grindfest (on easy) on easy i just smack them to death and heal as i need on normal i'll use shield if there's a couple of tough monsters, otherwise i stick to healing on hard i'll use shield on every battle(more often than not, i'll have to cast it twice), sometimes i'll use haste too can't spam spells since the amount of mp i have sucks a bit off topic: HP: 1092 MP: 303 (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) current mp costs for my spells Magic Missile: 32mp Fireball: 43mp Flare: 66mp Inferno: 89mp Meteor: 150mp Icestrike: 47mp Freeze: 71mp Snowstorm: 94mp Blizzard: 160mp Ball Lightning: 75mp Poison: 24mp Slow: 29mp Confuse: 94mp Cure: 39mp Haste: 47mp Shadow Veil: 94mp Shield: 24mp it's really no wonder i don't use most of them anyone else think that the mp costs vs the mp you have is a little out of balance? (currently have int/wis at 70 with 7 mp tanks)

Actually I do think that the MP is a bit skewed. I can only use my most powerful attacks twice and I'm done.

always defeated in 4th round... 3rd round physical only (magic wasted in previous rounds) and spirit ("Crimson Mirage") after 3 missed attacks

I think all stats have too little of an effect. MP being one of them. Why does it take so many points of DEX/AGI/etc. just to get something like hit to go up by 1 point?

I'm at Graduation atm. Took me a bit to get through the previous one though, so I'm going to wait a few levels until I have more spells and stuff before tackling Graduation.
I can get to level 4 on grindfest.

How can you get the credits to try it often? (・∀・) I've gotten up to Schooltastic but lost on Graduation...now I have to wait until I get another 500 to get my ass handed back to me...try it on easy... Anyways back on topic, I got up to round 4 with 3 HP left once, it speaks for itself, physical characters is hard to play (for now that is).

I've got 10K credits atm saved from stuff I uploaded at C75. Mainly because Panda's internet was broken heh. Also got 200K GP left. Not much though really compared to others

Agreed. I have 15MP tanks and still run out of magic by 3rd round on normal (even when hitting them to death most of the time). INT: 50 WIS: 46 15 MP tanks.

Okay, seriously, we need a formula that gives higher hit.
This is ridiculous. I attacked 19 times. I missed 8 of my attacks. There were 3 enemies, and the total number of times they missed me was 8.
How is it possible that the enemies attack more often than me and have a lower miss/hit ratio?

Not really. The "wipe out the battlefield" class spells are supposed to cost a lot to fire. QUOTE(roflcopt0rz @ Apr 23 2009, 06:03) It's not just that. I think all stats have too little of an effect. MP being one of them.

Because otherwise you'd end up with 300% hit chance and 215% evade chance before long. QUOTE(roflcopt0rz @ Apr 23 2009, 07:30) Okay, seriously, we need a formula that gives higher hit.

Actually monsters only have 75% base hit chance vs player's 90%. For typical lvl 50-ish stats... Simulating 1000000 hits with hit=97% crit=12% evade=11%... Array ( [hit] => 739507 [crit] => 120076 [miss] => 140417 ) String of bad luck != something wrong with the system.

No sure if i would call that a boss, but its more like one of your high level monsters. Zombie cows pwn you too quickly. You get MOOed to death.

i know they're supposed to be expensive (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) but i've never played a game where my AOE spell cost me half(or more than half in the case of blizzard) of my mp per casting i suppose we could throw all of our exp into int/wis, but would anybody be able to survive with their hp and everything else being as low as they'd end up? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) even if i only used single spells, i'd be out of mp by the 2nd or 3rd round the amount we have is fine for quick single fights with 3 monsters(normal-hard), but isn't enough for much else (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) are the weapons and armor going to be able to increase hp/mp? and i don't suppose you'd boost the tanks a little bit? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) shame they cost 1ap for .02 (6mp for my next one and 5mp for the one after)

I'm planning on having a look at base MP scaling compared with the other stats, but the actual percentage of "base" is unlikely to change significantly for the AoEs. Tank tweak would be amazing. For us low level players, tank boosts are pretty weak, i.e. 5 Hp tanks gives me an extra 27 HP and 5 MP tanks would only give me extra 8 MP based on the additive nature of the tanks.

Grindfest, I got to Lv. 5 once... but then Konata showed up.
Arena, I beat And Then There Were Two, but out of absolute luck.
As far as tanks are concerned, at my current HP, they don't do much, but since it's based on base HP, all I have to do is wait and train END more. Though if boosts are in mind, I won't object.
