I'm sure this sort of grinding will get nerfed at some point, but for the time being:

I used only one item early because I was a moron and did not expect to do so well. That being said, a mage build is FUCKING AWESOME, and this is with very low proficiencies.

I don't think that will be nerfed at all. Getting to round 47 isn't anything like getting to round 300. Or 1500. That being said, it shouldn't be that hard given a staff with a high ether theft chance and a high forbidden bonus, that way you kill and earn hp/mp at the same time. 2nd winds become less necessary.

Even with 1 piece of heavy armor and 4 pieces of cloth I can get to round 100 on cake without much difficulty using only lesser items. If I were to use godly I'm sure I could go much further.

Twisted Plots: I'm sorry, but REALLY!? . Crude equipment? Come on. Tenb. This is bullshit. It costs me 8-10 godly mana draughts and 2 shield scrolls to beat this thing, it takes up 15-20 minutes, and I'm getting crude equipment :\

I'm on round 61 with full HP+MP, and about 1/2 SP (used before starting the grindfest). I'm using a staff with 22% chance of ether theft for 2 turns. With careful rationing of shield and regen (essentially the only two spells I'm using - I do occasionally throw out a meteor when I get too bored) I don't think I'll ever run out. Also consider that I started out with 9/363 SP and I'm now at 191, so a bunch of my 2nd winds have been for SP (and one stupid 2nd wind for 1MP). I do run into some patches of mini-bosses, one after another after another (it's usually 3-4 rounds of mini-bosses), and that can cause a tiny extra drain - but I have to hit them so many times I usually drain it back anyway (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

I think this could outlast my battery if I'm not careful >_>

with 20+/2 theft, the cake is all you can eat. ya just keep going till you're full.

This looks daunting. So the tree is Yggdrasil and it can heal the other three? Makes sense. It has half the HP of the other 3? So naturally I would get rid of it first.

It's downhill for them from here. X-Nerf was tailor-made for this fight. One to go...

Now the question is, what should I do with the trophy? It sells for 4k, which is the same value as the Real Life shirt IIRC. Some exquisite or better plate armor would nice, but I have a feeling I'm going to get screwed over again by the shrine.

Just one shot Dark Skies, took me a godly health draught, 3 godly mana draughts and 2 godly mana potions. Got crap for the completion, though seeing my rei-gun hit them for 4200 soul damage was kinda fun.

My round limit is 18 on hard and 26 on easy.

Cause you're low level and they're relatively high for your level. The further the proficiency is from your level the faster itll increase, and the closer it is the slower, and if you're training multiple things at once it goes even slower.

Do you get much more benefits at that rounds?

on cake? not really. i've gone 800+ rounds, and i've seen people here go over 1000.

from long cakan, i usual get 7-12 mediocre to crappy pieces of equip, 1 artifact, and one rare item (like a token or soul stone)
i'm pretty sure i've never gotten anything better than "fine" grade equipment from cake. maybe a superior or two i don't remember.


ponkan has reported going 300+ rounds on normal, and he has pulled in 30+ mana elixers per run, as well as a magnificent ethereal weapon of rape among other things. the lucky bastard...

I go into cake grind to farm items for selling. Most of the equipment is junk anyway, but I've picked up some nicer pieces that someone will find useful once the Trader goes live. The only things of real value for selling that you can get from cake grinds are Infusions and Scrolls, anyway. Elixirs do drop, but they're rare (I've picked up about a dozen, altogether). I tend to just use the other consumables as throwaways for grinding, although I have picked up a ton of Godlies. I think I can transition to Easy in another level or two, but I'll have to pay more attention -- with Cake I just hold down a hotkey for a few seconds and move on until everything is dead, Cures and items at the start of the round if needed.
