QUOTE(DemonEyesBob @ Sep 19 2009, 22:20) Holy shit. I have nothing above superior, forget exquisite or magnificent or ethereal (I know it's not a quality designation, but still). Congrats on beating like everything, I feel so far behind.
QUOTE(EvolutionKing @ Sep 19 2009, 23:10) Congratulations. You're lucky. At that rate, you can probably take down the last (or not?) two monsters in the Ring of Blood.
thanks! QUOTE(marcho @ Sep 19 2009, 23:14) nice, grats.
outa morbid curiosity, what are the stats on the eth weapon you're runnin?
(IMG:[ i497.photobucket.com] http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr336/ponkan1234/ethereal.jpg) got in normalfest

dayum, i dont think i've ever so much as seen a magnificent item, much less a mag eth. quite the rng roll there.
guess i need to work myself up to a point that i can run normal grinds. maybe when i get regen in a few levels...

*looks at the stats for the ethereal weapon*
*looks at the highest multiplier on his weapons*
*sees that the highest is two-hander for just over 11*

I really underestimated the power of the Bubble-Gum (used before this round):
1 22 You gain 2068 Credits! 1 21 You gain 734.09 EXP! 1 20 Your HP and MP have been fully restored! 1 19 Arena Clear Bonus! Received: [Superior Health Potion] 1 18 You are Victorious! 1 17 Green Slime has been defeated. 1 16 Meteor blasts Green Slime for 2709 fire damage. 1 15 Giant Panda has been defeated. 1 14 Meteor blasts Giant Panda for 2359 fire damage. 1 13 Apathetic Canuck has been defeated. 1 12 Meteor blasts Apathetic Canuck for 2681 fire damage. 1 11 Cockatrice has been defeated. 1 10 Meteor blasts Cockatrice for 1719 fire damage. 1 9 Mantitcore has been defeated. 1 8 Meteor blasts Mantitcore for 1011 fire damage. 1 7 Blue Slime has been defeated. 1 6 Meteor blasts Blue Slime for 887 fire damage. 1 5 Tentacle Monster has been defeated. 1 4 Meteor blasts Tentacle Monster for 6909 fire damage. 1 3 You cast Meteor. 1 2 Replenishment restores you with 31 points of magic. 1 1 Regeneration restores you with 147 points of health. 0 8 Spawned Monster G: MID=1 (Green Slime) LV=67 HP=680 MP=60 SP=6 NA=90 Type=hostile 0 7 Spawned Monster F: MID=5 (Giant Panda) LV=65 HP=680 MP=51 SP=18 NA=91 Type=hostile 0 6 Spawned Monster E: MID=15 (Apathetic Canuck) LV=68 HP=1616 MP=38 SP=6 NA=87 Type=hostile 0 5 Spawned Monster D: MID=4 (Cockatrice) LV=69 HP=700 MP=43 SP=12 NA=90 Type=hostile 0 4 Spawned Monster C: MID=3 (Mantitcore) LV=66 HP=698 MP=64 SP=9 NA=89 Type=hostile 0 3 Spawned Monster B: MID=10 (Blue Slime) LV=66 HP=684 MP=47 SP=18 NA=91 Type=hostile 0 2 Spawned Monster A: MID=2 (Tentacle Monster) LV=65 HP=680 MP=71 SP=7 NA=91 Type=hostile 0 1 Initializing arena challenge #10 (Round 8 / 8) ... 0 0 Battle Start!
But the main point is:
Blazing Field, CLEARED!

That is somewhat epic. It took me three Meteors, a Blizzard and a Cyclone to clear that round, and even then I still had to poke two of them with my sword to make them give in. Oh, and I went ahead and did Growing Storm. I used four Godly Mana Draughts and a Mana Elixir, and received a glittering prize - no, that was a lie, it was an Average Health Potion. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) On the plus side, I still have one Mana Elixir left... Something tells me I won't be tackling it on a daily basis. Edit: That first bit was a lie too. It was Fresh Meat where I used all those spells. I wouldn't have gone to quite so much trouble for only one mini-boss. I'm still in awe of the Bubble Gum though. QUOTE(Eutopia @ Sep 19 2009, 14:53) feels like its pointless to go to the shrine with the trophy, its better if i just sell it for credits, have exchanged like 10 trophies so far and its all been shit..
Just exchange it for a staff, chances are it will sell for more the 1k.

Just got to round 13 on cakefest...and you might ask why that's good. I did it without using pots with a staff, no ether theft, and only casting shield and cure...and I did it faster than with 1h and shield...It was actually rather funny, I beat them to death with a stick...which makes me believe that if I had a good ether theft one...

What do bubble gum and the flower vase do again I've used them before but I forget, someone should really make a note on the item part of wiki on them.

Had to start using Average items and not just Lesser, but I beat Fresh Meat.
I think I'll leave Dark Skies alone for a while unless I want to start burning lots of items.

Just hit round 68 of cakefest without using any pots....and in doing so proved a point to myself...with a good enough staff with a high proc chance and duration of ether theft you can cakefest forever :X I stretched out 13 rounds to almost 70 with just a 15% chance of ether theft for 1 round (2 ticks)....That said, it was using the method referred to here. You have exceeded the number of Grindfests you can start in one day.
98/6722 exp until I reach the next level too. >_>
That will teach me not to run whenever a mini-boss shows up.

This is how i roll. 67 staff proficiency, 23% 2 turn ether theft. No items, no offensive spells, cure and shield only. Round 805, final destination. Stickadin forever. --- and yeah oumi that should wear off at your next dawn if i remember another thread correctly. This post has been edited by marcho: Sep 20 2009, 17:03

Well, if by lvl 100 I got a nice staff and if I could grind out on normal, I would like to see how a Soul Harvest build would work, seeing as it's an aoe that procs hp return on your next melee hit. That mixed with ether theft and coalesced mana sounds like it would be pretty interesting once you get a high enough proficiency, and if it works well enough would be better than just whacking them with a cane....and a hell of a lot faster to boot :X
Can anyone higher level that has actually tried that give any feedback as to how well that would work?

huh, didn't know there was an hp return proc.
sadly there's no real way for me to train, forbidden i would assume? until i actually get the spell. that sounds like tremendous fun tho, i guess i'll start picking my int back up to around where my other stats are.
ah well, least i can keep my stick proficiency high fer coalesced mana.

I'm sure this sort of grinding will get nerfed at some point, but for the time being: (IMG:[ i3.photobucket.com] http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y74/Xylon_Lionheart/Round47.jpg) I used only one item early because I was a moron and did not expect to do so well. That being said, a mage build is FUCKING AWESOME, and this is with very low proficiencies.
