LOL I didn't start using that until about round 1200 and it's not like it take many turns most were 5-10 turns.

2 million credits worth of crystals wasn't too bad since I don't have max Scavenger. Its also a good baseline for some other stuff I'm testing.

Yeah, but how many hours? FUS RO DAH is 100% with 10 turn cooldown, so it's really more like 12+ turns to sustain it.

1-shot runs as a mage are already too drawn out enough as it is as well. I think maybe there needs to be a hard cap per crysfest run with a bulk bonus at the end (one that is proportional to difficulty setting.) Maybe at 1000 rounds.

With over 160 pages, and the new patch, I thought I'd ask the question on my mind without poring through possibly outdated strategies... how does one even get FUS RO DAH in the first place? Any strategy suggestions? Without IA or other Hath perks? I'm asking because I'm halfway there, so by mid-November, I should be going for it.

I'm using a balanced (read: non-optimised) build, and I run as melee (1H w/Shield) during the first few rounds of all the arenas so far, then mage most of the way when facing 8-10 enemies. On IWBTH, with a maxed out 13 Godly Mana Potions, I estimate I run out of steam around Round 40, a far cry from the 100 rounds required.

My HP and MP tanks are also maxed out, although my SP tank isn't, and all of my elemental spells are 1st-tier, which I suspect is half the problem. I have all the usual buffs on (Spark, Hasten, Absorb, SV, Protection, Regen, Arcane Focus), which is what accounts for most of my mana usage. I'm also spamming Weaken and Imperil on all the enemies, whcih also accounts for the rest of my mana usage.

Defeated DwD on Nintendo difficulty.

With mana being a constant hassle, doing this is getting longer and longer. Switched to alternating Banish and Ragnarok and that yielded faster kill results...I think. At least on the normal mobs and non "resist everything" customs. Used All Fenrir Phase with reasonably ok stats and a good Katalox Focus staff to extend Mana.

Already completed the first half of the arenas on IWBTH. Now working on the second half of the Arenas on Battletoads. I may have to start switching in Mana Elixirs for Godly Mana Potions soon in my battle inventory, as pretty much I win the arenas with either 1 or 0 Mana pots left. That should at least double my total mana output...which *might* be enough to conquer IBWTH when I get to it...but not quite sure. IWBTH hits hard enough to require a lot of extra spells, unless there is another Holy/Dark Mage build trick that I am not doing (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

Not as slow as Melee, but still slow at times due to ether theft...even with high % focus staff, going all-out with spells for quick rounds saps away your mana quickly.

Earned Dovahkiin. Tried it out and it seems pretty weak unless I am not using it correctly. I heard that OFC is good so I figured FRD would be do but...meh.

Next up is to complete the Hentaiverse Arenas by finishing all on IWBTH. Will have to switch to all Mana Elixirs for that once I finish the others before it and then hope my spirit and mana holds out. Damn customs resisting more than 50% of the time when I have 180% spell hit sucks sour frog ass.

I got to round 362 on normal. For me it gets dangerous after 250 since all the enemies that don't die on the ffirst tirn wacl me together.

It's better to wear gear that gives more END and mitigation, that way regenerative things five more. IA help a ton with mana management as well.

Rah: yeah.
I could have probably gone further as a melee(got to around round 50 with no pots, more with careful managing of OC to get back MP), especially given how I recently upped my melee gear too.

But takes too long, that is as a mage. The round number is pretty much entirely dependent on MP. Maybe save a few casts of cure with infusion.
