A melee character (like me) would get the farthest using a good shield and a weapon with a high parry chance.
It's just 4 times slower than using a 2 handed bleeder.

Might try it sometime. Will need to bring spirit potions to power Spark of Life.
I doubt melee characters can get anywhere near as far as mages.

Last time I tried Griendfest @ Normal was 129 round, using melee of course. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif)

Didn't use any potions, BTW.

Didn't you post that you got to something like round 1360 using a 2H lately? That totally blows me away, and I'm a mage!

Without realllly good luck with Magic second winds, you have to risk leaving a monster alive long enough to try to proc ET, which in really high rounds can lead to extreme damage on yourself.

I admit, I'm significantly lower level than the best mages out there. They could probably do quite a bit better than I can imagine.

Yeah, I don't have Fim or SoN speced right now. Not enough AP after all the other shit I need. I wonder if doing that arena in my Demon-fiend set, and using Soul Reaper would be faster than doing it in my Holy set and using Smite (while the other girls sleep).

Raw power, mana gems, mana regen, and 2nd winds do the rest.

Oh hmm, I've never actually benefited from my mana regen directly, since I always run Shield+SV+Haste with Innate Arcana. I guess those aren't important when you're consistently exploding the entire field in one turn. You could actually get back mana from your regen, rather than just having it slow down the gradual bleed from IA.

Now I can see how you could go so long; you wouldn't need ET for mana regen, so you wouldn't have to leave +5000% damage-bonus mobs alive long enough to proc it.

Yep, ET it's worthless for there runs, and channeling gens also help to recast the buffers (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Oh, and btw they awake once they get dmg, so nope unless you want to kill one by one. Honestly use items, weaken+blind and sparky (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Even if trigger, you'll have 5 turns without taking any dmg.

Depends, but if you entered "just after" you're been able to, my guess is +15 days.
