RE: Battletoads Trio & Tree
The first time I did it I put everything to sleep and killed them one by one. At some point during my four attempts I realized that I could just AOE normal monsters and more or less do the same with mini-bosses. I used weaken and blind on Mind Rapers to cut down on toddlerguro crits one-shotting me and using up all my SP; of course, I
was trying to do it without items. If you use items, just take some elixirs to reduce total time needed and the
annoyance of constantly using ET to refill your MP.
My relevant stats were - 50% evade, destruction staff 37%MDM (36% 3 Turn ET), ELEM prof maxed, DEP prof 170,
SUP and CUR prof 160ish, IA level two (using shield) [which you don't need, it's just for the extra SUP prof chance].
About deprecating magic: You'll want as much prof as you can get. Having to recast sleep in the last round is a
real annoyance, so much so that in my last three play throughs I used a curse-weaver robe to make sleep last for
a few extra turns. It reduced my evade by 5%, but it was worth it.
Other considerations: I put all of my DEP and SUP spells in the quick cast bar. Opening the menu each time to cast
one gets old fast, and you will be casting them over and over again. Using nerf before using poison will make it do
more damage, in case you didn't know. In the last round whittle everyone's hp down to almost nothing before killing them one by one to avoid the special effects they get when one of them dies. Also, make SURE you whittle the tree (pun?) down first and kill him last because he can heal the others instantly and you'll have to whittle them all down again. It happened to me... (IMG:[

Bottom line: It's not that hard, just time consuming and dull. You can do a few arenas on battletoads to get a feel for it. I did 160 rounds of battletoads IW last night and didn't cast sleep once.
