QUOTE(Lord_Obagon @ Jan 2 2010, 06:27) Offhand and Block? What!?
It's a bug with the Infusion of Gaia. It grows you a third arm, or allows you to block with your penis, or something. It's been reported.

Growing Storm Cleared! (IMG:[ gannonman.com] http://gannonman.com/image/GrowingStorm_586007669.png) First Attempt. I straight DW'ed the first round to buildup Overcharge. From round two on, I just blasted away, while chugging Superior Mana pots. Barely a new record high single round EXP. Three Arenas left before Endgame. QUOTE(Sayo Aisaka @ Jan 1 2010, 22:35) I don't think the Trio are supposed to be some ditzy anime chicks... But then there's Mikuru, so who knows?
Konota's not too bright either. QUOTE(Sayo Aisaka @ Jan 1 2010, 22:35) I've been doing a lot of arenas as a mage recently, and oddly enough when playing on Normal I seem to use less mana with a staff than I do with 1H+Shield. I haven't quite worked it out yet, but it could be something to do with the fact that most minibosses don't live long enough to make it worth my while Weakening them...
Anyway, today I tried Endgame with a staff for the first time... and used more mana items than usual. That White Bunneh at the end ate up all the mana I'd saved and then some. I suppose I could just have hit him over the head a few hundred times, but I suspect it wouldn't have made much difference what with all the supportive and deprecating stuff I'd have to keep up. So it's back to the good old Rapier for Twisted Plots.
I figured that would be the case. I once faced a Boss in an Item World as a Mage, before my 18 level grind to build up DW prof. I won but, it took nearly 200 whacks from my Staff to do it. When I switched to DW Rapier/Dagger it took half as many turns on my longest round with one. The stick is awesome for vaporizing mobs and 2-shotting the mids but, it's a cardboard tube versus Bosses.

(Pathetic compared to some of the other things posted here, I know) I've been reluctant to risk the Ring of Blood since losing Silence, but this fight was too easy. You're next Mikuru!

Just finished Bunneh, Dalek and Mithra in less than 30 min. Incredible how scared I was to try them and possibly waste a lot of items and a token before but wow. That was easier than I thought,
Yay!

Just cleared Longest Journey. My abilities are currently set up so as to maximise my chances of beating Real Life, which means I had to do it with only Holy and Dark offensive spells, which was... interesting. Items used: 6 Godly Mana Draughts, half a Mana Elixir and a Scroll of the Gods for the last round. I don't know if I really needed the Scroll, but it gave me some psychological support to compensate for not having all those elemental spells.
If I find it still takes as many items after I restore my "normal" ability setup I'm going to be a trifle upset...

I tried Trio and the Tree again and look how close I came to clearing it! Skuld was the last one I needed to take out. (IMG:[ gannonman.com] http://gannonman.com/image/HV_Trio+defeat+1-5-10_539257714.jpg) Aw, man. Maybe next time. But congrats to everyone on clearing your challenges.

What kind of equipment and items are you using for it? It's not really a challenge that should take you several tries to clear.
Have you considered using Weaken + Bewilder instead of Silence? They are all pretty weak hitters Spirit-wise, and Yggdrasil doesn't even have offensive magic or spirit, so you wouldn't need to cast Silence on it to begin with. It's just a suggestion since I can beat it without items pretty regularly doing it like that.

I don't have special equipment or a cheater cookie like you do but my weapons are kind of decent and I have a lot of strength. I don't even have Bewilder. I use Silence, X-Nerf and Poison on them. And I was thinking of not using Silence but didn't want to take the chance. I can beat them down but I run out of items (I use Mana Elixirs and an Infusion of Gaia or two) but when those are gone, my HP and MP runs out toward the very end. Too bad we can't use Weaken and Silence together or else I would have cleared this long ago. And I wish my huge power and spirit attack could do more than just sit there and look pretty. Apocalypse Soon Cleared! (IMG:[ gannonman.com] http://gannonman.com/image/asoon_928694347.png) I don't know why I waited, and ground out some deprec/soul prof first. It was the same as the previous one: one round of DW to build-up Overcharge, then all Elemental AOEs with some Cure/Cure II as needed. (Regen couldn't keep up with the damage I was taking.) Two more before Endgame, and next up: first time with three mids at the end. QUOTE(Tenseigamoon @ Jan 5 2010, 18:32) I don't have special equipment or a cheater cookie like you do but my weapons are kind of decent and I have a lot of strength.
Umm, the "cheater" cookie doesn't help, among all of the Awards, its kinda weak... QUOTE(Tenboro @ Dec 31 2008, 20:29) (The Cookie gives you a permanent bonus of +20% EXP and +20% Power, and is not obtainable outside of special events.)
Well, then, if you don't have Bewilder, I guess Weaken the Tree, and don't bother Silencing it. That should save some Mana.

Un-Sealed Power.
191 15 You gain 25801 Credits! 191 14 You gain 7601.93 EXP! 191 13 Your HP and MP have been fully restored! 191 12 Arena Clear Bonus! Received: [Fine Sapphire Club] 191 11 You have obtained the title: Destined 191 10 Giant Panda dropped [Greater Mana Potion] 191 9 Cookie Monster dropped [Average Health Potion] 191 8 Manbearpig dropped [ManBearPig Tail] 191 7 Dalek dropped [Dalek Voicebox] 191 6 You are Victorious!
Used a whopping 8 Godly Mana Draughts, a Godly Health Draught, and two Shield Scrolls. I won't be doing this one again for awhile, it uses up way too many items.

ENDGAME CLEAR!86 11 You gain 10255 Credits! 86 10 You gain 3792.82 EXP! 86 9 Your HP and MP have been fully restored! 86 8 Arena Clear Bonus! Received: [Fair Silk Cap of the Cheetah]86 7 You have obtained the title: Ascended86 6 Manbearpig dropped [ManBearPig Tail] 86 5 Mind Raper dropped [Average Health Draught] 86 4 You are Victorious! That was very easy. Not sure why folks used to have such a hard time with their first Endgame clear. MBP used Global Warming once, but missed (poison on him from turn one meant his spirit regen was sloooow). I had Spark up for it, anyway, and nothing else was still alive. With poison and my 1H+S and cloth gear, it took about 30-40 rounds of beating on him to finish it, after I cleared out the rest of the monsters.

Killzone Cleared.
9 13 You gain 8188 Credits! 9 12 You gain 1773.47 EXP! 9 11 Your HP and MP have been fully restored! 9 10 Arena Clear Bonus! Received: [Greater Health Draught] 9 9 Apathetic Canuck dropped [Spirit Elixir] 9 8 You are Victorious!
I discovered one bad thing about Innate Arcana: I obviously don't use it enough, because I wasn't used to the constant mana drain, so that put me in a tight spot a few times. At certain points I didn't know whether to attack with my rapier or spells: spells used up mana more quickly, but the longer I took to kill something, the more mana I lost anyway due to Innate Arcana. I did manage to keep it until my final attack, which was enough to kill the last miniboss.

The perceived difficulty of Endgame fluctuates as Tenboro nerfs and buffs us with patches. Right now we're at a high point -- I can clear Endgame on Normal with no items. I can even clear it with a 2H and on Hard, though those actually require items.

THE TRIO AND THE TREE CLEARED! I'M A GODSLAYER! (IMG:[ gannonman.com] http://gannonman.com/image/HV_Trio+cleared%21+1-7-10_382659858.jpg) Whoo, yeah! Fucking finally. I used Mana Elixirs and one Infusion of Gaia. I weakened Yaggledraggle as suggested and then when another one was about to die, I switched out Silence for Weaken and that killed them off a lot quicker. I had the feeling I didn't even need to silence them at all but I didn't want to risk it. Anyway, I was victorious! \o/

Congrats. You know what? I think you should get a thing to display in your sidebar for that, along with the stars and gems and other shiny stuff. Nothing impresses the lurkers like shiny stuff in your sidebar.

I had the feeling I didn't even need to silence them at all but I didn't want to risk it. Anyway, I was victorious! \o/ Congrats on being the second Godslayer! Meanwhile, I botched Power Flux. I ran low on HP and MP at the same time and panicked, got confused and died. It all started when my Health Alert flashed red and I cast Cure and my HP bar barely moved. (I must have got Blasted by a mob or 2 on the same turn.) So, I am like 'screw it' and "cast" Cure II and didn't have enough MP for it. Then I used a Superior Mana Draught, which turned out to be too weak/slow to get me enough MP for Cure II. So, basically, I had to whack at them with the Staff, while waiting for enough MP to cast Cure II and hope I don't die before then. Obviously, that "plan" didn't work. I should have used a Godly. Ah, well, lesson learned. I'll try again tonight. If I survive, I'll probably try Killzone, too, setting the Stage for Endgame.
