Some of us spend hours a day fixing names and have to put up with quite a few interface issues.
The popup is tiny. The default window can be tough to read if the name is
"(COMIC1☆9) [MODAE TEI (Modaetei Anetarou, Modaetei Imojirou)] Konna ni Eroi Kami-sama o Shojo no Mama Houchishite Dungeon ni Itta no ga Machigaidatta no Darou ka + Omake (Dungeon ni Deai o Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka) [Korean] [미쿠다요]"
On the popup, which votes are recent, and which ones are from 2011? Even frequent renamers sometimes get tripped up by this.
Every time we vote to change a field, our vote in the other field is bumped unless we click the other field's "New" every single time.
If there's are votes for "(C89) [石村屋 (いしむら)] ハリツキ (艦隊これくしょん -艦これ-) [中国翻訳]" and votes for "(C89) [石村屋 (いしむら)] ハリシキ (艦隊これくしょん -艦これ-) [中国翻訳]", where's the change? And so on.
So I decided to fix some of the problems in the hopes of making things slightly less tedious for everyone.
Rename Helper 1.1
Rename_Helper_1.1.user.js.txt ( 12.12k )
Number of downloads: 31
Features:
On the rename popup:
Default very small height limit (350px) removed
Default width increased significantly so you can almost always see an entire rename on one line (easier comparisons)
When you click or start typing in a field, fills the "New" text field with the rename most recently submitted (or with the uploader title). (No more "C88) [...]" or "(Touhou Project" or leading/trailing tabs and spaces from inaccurate copying)
Selects each "New" radio button by default so you don't bump unchanged renames nor lose your spot at the bottom
Autofocus: you can start typing (or pasting or fixing) in R field immediately without clicking
Sorts renames by date submitted rather than by vote power, which can lead the inattentive to vote for incorrect old namesTable order is much more intuitive:
Uploader:
Oldest name:
Older names:
..
Newest name:
New [input field]
Blank Vote
For each rename, highlight the first and last changed character between it and the previous rename (or, for the last rename, between it and uploader title)
On the rename tracker:
For each rename, highlight the first and last changed character between it and the previous rename (or, for the last rename, between it and uploader title)
If no rename has gotten to 100%, "CurE" and "CurJ" are superfluous; they use up precious vertical space in the very long tracker, and so are removed
If you rename frequently, maybe try it out, tell me if it helps. Tested in Firefox and Chrome. Feedback welcome. Install in the same manner you install any HV userscripts, through Greasemonkey or Tampermonkey.
Depending on monitor size/contrast and personal preference, you might change the two highlight colors and the width of the rename popup by changing the 3 variables at the top.
