What is your playing style? You are 15 levels beyond so I feel you're the person to ask, considering those 350+ giving advice already have most things unlocked and maxed.
What about abilites? Do you IW your eq?
I'm asking because PFUDOR is impossible for me (barely survived 5 rounds of second arena, got thrashed on the 6th) as of now. IWBTH is managable if I'm against <=5 monsters, but even then it's not a sure win, plus I use up ton of scrolls and infusions to pass potions cooldown. Nintendo is almost always a win, although I have died a few times due to multiple special attacks from the monsters out of ten.
Currently I have this set:
Not sure if my answer should be in the ask the expert thread but yeah (I'm definitely not an expert in any case)
1h playing style rapier/shield combo
with a not so great stat
36Block
31.3 Parry
60.5PMI
I have only IW my
Rapierbut this was like a really recent thing. (yeah I know that rapier is junk but its like the best weapon I've found after the patch)
Also on a patch related note after 0.82 the pxp seems to have decreased on average to more realistic levels so IW feels slightly easier)
Wearing full heavy Power (mixed but non-slaughter)
Essentially ability for me is like obviously all the standard ones in general, heavy and 1h.
In terms of deprecating and support I have max out as much as my level allows me to on:
Faster Weaken, Better Imperil,Faster Imperial, Mind Control, Better Silence
Better Haste,Stronger Spirit,Better Heartseeker, Better Regen, Cure and Protection
Yes I agree with Frederiksc on sleep breaks too soon but its good if silence should fail on you or you just need some breathing room (remember mobs with full sp will very likely SP attack you, so remove them from play ASAP) just don't attack sleeping monster until killing every other mobs to max out the time they are out of play.
I have 1 lvl in storm spike shield (give enemy chance to miss from memory)
and highest holy imperil I could get. (yes probably waste of points)
Yeah will need to purchase quite a few ability training
I don't know if this will help you as a wind mage since I play the 1h/shield heavy style. I'm not sure mage can survive PF easily at low levels (as in < lvl 300), I was wearing mage amour with full buff and I was still getting hurt on like hard or something from memory.
But on my heavy power set and full buffs PF mobs normal attack hurt a little but survivable and in IWBTH normal attacks don't really worry me too much (even from multiple mobs because most attacks are blocked or parried) the only things that actually hurt are mp attacks and sp attack which is all sorted out through silence/sleep/stun.
Oh and my prof are 213 on both 1h and heavy, 181 Supportive, 115 deprecating
