Continuing on with Kuoo's monster menagerie, here's Monster Number 40, Gummy Bear. There have been many other variants of this German treat -- animal and fruit shapes, mainly -- but bears are the original form.

Now here's something I admit I hadn't come across. Monster Number 41, Summer Pudding. It's made of layers of fruit and bread soaked overnight in fruit juice.

QUOTE(meow_pao @ Jun 10 2016, 09:43) Meet the dessert so beloved by anime schoolgirls. Monster Number 38, Parfait. How they manage to consume these caloric monstrosities on a regular basis and still keep their girlish figures is beyond me. One of the key differences between American foods and Japanese foods is "the portion size" per serving. When watching most American-living-in-Japan videos on YouTube, when it comes to food, more often than not you'll find they say that Japanese foods tend to be smaller than American counterparts, e.g. pizza. I think this could possibly be one of the reasons why Japanese girls are generally slim, even if they seem to love parfaits a lot. Edit: typo. I think it's more of American portions being much more generous than what you'd find in most countries, not just Japan. My wife and I have travelled a fair amount, and we're still in awe of the amount of food you can get in a "normal" portion in the U.S. than in Asia, Europe, or Australia. You could say that American portions give you more value for your money.

Back to the monster menagerie, here's one of my all-time favorites: Monster Number 42, Caramel Pudding. My family and I have always called it custard, and I've loved it ever since I was a kid.

QUOTE(Kuoo @ Jun 20 2016, 21:52) That icing design is... absolutely hypnotic. Here's Monster Number 43, Cinnamon Pretzel. The plainer variety is particularly beloved by Oktoberfest revelers.

Now here's a dessert with a misleading name. Monster Number 44, Pesche con Crema. Translated, it means "peaches and cream", but it's not the fruit you'd think it was supposed to be. It's actually a peach-shaped cake filled with vanilla cream and peach jam.

Wow, I have to say the color of red mixed with orange looks fantastic. Yummy! Speaking of which, a while ago I watched a video on YouTube, that someone made a strawberry-shaped food (candy?), which was made of fresh strawberries. I was amazed at the video mainly because the process was quite complex, and in the end you got a food item that looked the same as a fresh strawberry (size, color, etc). Anyone know how to find the said video? I want to watch it again and have tried several keywords but still failed to find it.
