That's certainly more accurate. You technically don't have to pay any money. You just need to upload/seed tons of hentai, or write a bunch of reviews, or tag stuffs (come to think of it, is it legal to make auto-upvote scripts?)

The big money comes from running / paying for H@H servers.
The incentives for paying for them were even increased last year, raising the h/day from 3 -> 7.

Everyone wins from the lotto even if you don't go in it. It has kept inflation down, and increased the availability of legendary weapons in the market. Its a voluntary credit sink, that doesn't hurt the game play of people who don't use it. Look at D3, their credit sink was to massively increase repair costs, whilst it worked it murdered a third of the player base.

The income from your galleries and GP from awards and donations has nearly doubled as a result. That makes items on the market nearly twice as affordable for you.

Lotteries do not have distributive justice ever, what they do have and this thread has demonstrated is that they have procedural justice. Tenboro has ensured that everyone can enter the lotto with the same rules and conditions.

Not really. The amount of GP from uploading/seeding/tagging per day is even lower than playing a few rounds of HV. Upload is more likely a hobby than asking for reward for me.

It doesn't stop the winners from out-bidding everybody else in the regular auctions. In fact, not only do they get the weapons from the lotteries, they also get the weapons/armors from regular auctions because y'know, they have more hath than they know what to do with.

I am top 10 in H@H, and I don't make enough GP to even make a dent in the big pot lotteries. To get 1 ticket to play the lottery, I need 1000 hits (files served). Now imagine if my H@H client only gets 50,000 hits per day. That's only 50 tickets. You are overstating the earning potential of H@H.

Now that two of the biggest cheaters/fraudsters in HV have been banned, we'll see how different it is with them gone. But, there are STILL cheaters out there altering the balance of the game.

You have to consider how much they lost when they're not winning. The lottery was designed so that, no matter how much or how little you put in the lottery, you will still lose in average.

Hey, I understand. I don't win squat in the lottery and I can't beat Stoneycat in auctions either. But to be fair, he has been doing H@H for a looong time and at a much higher rate than the next guy. Who knows how much hath/GP he's accumulated before the lottery came around?

Is it unfair if you don't win the lottery in real life? The people you call the hath barons also have extremely good gear and are competing for the top end 1% of gear. That leaves 99% of gear cheaper that before. 2013 had over 100% inflation, add another 100% inflation this year and all gear would only been affordable by the hath barons.

Its also worth noting that Stony is one of the most generous players in the game.

That only encourages multi-accounting.

Anyways, H@H is gradually becoming over-saturated with clients (pretty sure it's outpacing the site's overall growth). I can forsee a decrease in H@H rewards within the next few months if this continues.
