I've called the finished script [ pastie.org] HV - Shop BLOP for no particular reason other than the fact that it sounds funny. Usage: - Go to your inventory page and click on the button that should be over the HV logo. - You can change category titles and move things around by editing shopCategories/shopItems/shopItemFormat. Deficiencies: - No prefix handling (e.g., Shielding of Plate *). Maybe I'll add support for it later, who knows. - Doesn't play nice with equipment that has been renamed. *edit: workaround with separate 'Shielding Plate' category [ pastie.org] hereThis post has been edited by ctxl: Mar 7 2014, 11:41

shouldn't custom names be deleted when an equip is transferred?

Yup. Shouldn't be a problem for the free shop, but could be an issue for anyone else that wants to modify the script and use it.

QUOTE(FreeSHop @ Mar 10 2014, 15:17) Until we've had a chance to talk to all staff members we're putting a hold on selling items. Potentially we are probably going to be looking to an exchange type system so you could redeem your tickets earned for an item instead of us worrying about setting prices. The problem is all these items were donated to help new players. We've suddenly got a lot of interest from older players seeing things they want - the last thing any of us want to do is upset the people who did donate by selling their item to a level 300 player as opposed to donating it as they presumed we would... All staff need to get together at some point to discuss this and if appropriate decide exactly what to do. We're much more likely to go along the route of item exchanges than credit purchase though.
-AnimeAi
I like the "trade tickets for items" idea. If they have donated (or are willing to donate) items that are at least equal in ticket value (perhaps even 1.5x or 2x ?) to the item that they are requesting, then I think that is a fair trade. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif) Also, is the Hath prize of 100+75+50+25= 250 Hath every 2 weeks viable? That is to say, will we be able to afford giving away 2.25 million credits worth of Hath every two weeks? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) And, I know the rules say that "Lottery winners will retain ALL their tickets and be entered in future draws", but I think they should have a number of tickets removed from their total tickets equal to: the value of the prize / 1,000c. So if they won 1st place (in the current lottery), they would lose 900 tickets (at current Hath value). Otherwise the top donator will win over, and over, and over again. I agree to Elven Range in that way, when there are over the level, there should at least donate something and not just use a Freeshop for Newbees to buy for a cheap price some Equip.
And he is also right about the Lottery, there should be something, that avoid winning the same peoble over and over again. Dont know if reduce the tickets equal to the price is the right way. At least at the moment i didnt have a better idea.

Problem with "reduce tickets equal to the price" is that someone donates direct credits....The ticket values for the benefit of gear aren't that out of whack - magnificent isn't that far beyond exq in performance - but they aren't nearly as logarithmic as player values. Mag values go up to at most 50 tickets in case of t3 with good prefix, while very common no-prefix exqs get either 2 or 5 tickets with another +3-5 tickets if they have an useful prefix.
Furthermore, there is the issue of dozens of low-usage superiors not being the most useful options, given they give no additional choices if they're relatively same. Though the shielding trade done doesn't suffer from that problem(I have no problem with that from that PoV) , it is a possibility.
As for the lottery, I and AnimeAi agreed to subtract from tickets the credit value of the prize/1000. It means that people won't gain or lose if they donate credits and win prices, but still gives much more than the bazaar price of gear.
I once again invite staff members to join #FreeSHop on irc.rizon.net(same network as the e-hentai live chat link you see at the top of the forum page uses).

i was thinking it myself, otherwise that would seem a sort of 'winner takes it all, and i mean ALL!' play as for tickets, i think a ticket gained from donations should be valued less than one ticket erased by asking: you donate for 20, you can ask for 15 (or so)

QUOTE(Elven Ranger @ Mar 5 2014, 12:21) I had sent 4 plain Exq Leathers & Plate that were 5 tickets each but now only 2, so that lost me 12 tickets right there. So, my problem was an outdated donation chart. (See previous suggestion about adding a version number or date on the donation chart.) (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) The Donation Chart still needs to be updated. I recently donated some "plain" Exq. Leather & Plate and only got 2 tickets each, which is fine, but the Donation Chart still says 5 tickets each for these types of donations. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

posting this here because this is where the discussion should actually be. QUOTE complaints about freeshop giving out legs and mags to level 50-something players
this is a result of high level players that are too lazy to make a shop or don't see any point in auctioning off an equip. not sure if anything could, or even should, be done about it though. QUOTE(brewdonkey @ Mar 23 2014, 02:24) There is no justification for a new player to own a magnificent/legendary right off the bat.
wasn't that the point of the level caps in wolfgirl's shop? perhaps a similar system should be implemented here as well so that the newbies actually have to work to get better stuff. also agree with ignoring all requests made by godslayers. farm noodles and junk equips like the rest of us (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)

Players can never get anything from the free shop if you've got a Mag/Leg/credits, and they can't request for Mag/Leg/credits if they've already taken other equips (unless they return them). T hey can choose to get one really good equip and pay for others, or they can choose to get a set of okay equips. That should balance things out.

That's odd, there wasn't a level cap before?

the generic minimum level cap of 30 and the maximum of 150, then 200. what something intend (and i really agree) is that it isn't clearly said that you can't ask for legendaries if you aren't at least level 150, mags if your level is at least 125... thus all that anarchy and newbies owning mags. it would have been enough to think about it to avoid two or three pages of comments...

let me ask you one question: if buying from other players is cheating, why did you bid in auctions?

he's one of those asshats honorable players who thinks you should only use bazaar/dropped gear before a certain level. it used to be 300, but he changed it at some point for some reason. probably because he realized making the game harder than it needs to be to maintain a sense of honor is as pointless as taking classes without buying books because the school didn't give them to you.
