OK... then... how about only give to newbies equipments just for them?

Like:
Exq Leather (but nothing more)
Exq Plate (same as leather)
One Exq weapon/Sstff (but no ethereal in case of melee weapons)
Exq Cotton robes (also no mag or legendaries)


And all the other items be put on a raffle every week?

sounds good? dont?

That way the mid grade market can be back from the graveyard and newbies will understand that even if they get stuff fro free... those are only a little help... not something that will save them from death whent they reach level 200... TBH, the mid-level market will not come back, even if the rules are changed. The credits sink is too heavy atm so that some (used to be) good items cannot even sold in auction.

IMO, the most urgent thing is to state the actual ban requirement.
The ban related rule currently is like this:

So, if FS is going to give chance, state in the rule that how many chance will be given under what situation is better.

Something like that. OR at least make all staff share the same standard. And state it in the rule.

I was level 80 last week, leveling up to 80 cost me 8 months. I got a good 2H mace from free shop, but it was not necessary and not that helpful. I bought all my heavy armors from equipment shop, I am still wearing them. And now even my mace is bought from equipment shop. So I think a newbie may not have to rely on free shop to get usable equipments. Besides, I have to say that most of the equipments in free shop are no better than in equipment shop.

But what newbie really need are the potions. The heroic health and mana potions really helped me a lot. Buying those potions from item shop is not affordable for a newbie. Buying them from forum shop is cheaper, but still a heavy burden for a newbie, or at least for me below level 100. Of course now I can buy them from forum shop, and I can farm for a while to get credits to buy some better equipments.

My conclusions:
1. For a newbie below level 100, what he need is solely potions. Other equipments can be bought from equipment shop.
2. Once a newbie reach level 100, he can afford potions from forum shop.
3. A newbie need advices much more than equipments.

I was soon able to do easily about 50 rounds in IW without using potions, I use 4~5 for the hardest part but I have 15 potions won when I'm done.
But alright, if you need only potions, nobody give you obligation to ask something else. I don't see why they shouldn't give gears ; it may not be your case, but a lot of newbies need it at the beginning (that time when you can only afford crude and average equips).

If this newbie had enough for exquisites (5~40k each and even more depending of the quality and the seller), I think 700c for 100 heroic isn't really a problem (even 3k at the bazaar isn't that unaffordable). Credits you didn't spent on your equip thanks to FreeSHop are credits you can keep for your potions if you want.

1. A potion pack is rather expensive in shop. 30c for a single potion in shop. So 300/200/100 potions cost 9k/6k/3k credits. Btw, I do not see the point for newbies to use exq+ equipment. Superior is good enough. They do not forge anyway. Exq grade gears were end game gears when I was most active.

I am sorry that I may caused some miscommunication. When I referred "equipment shop", I actually meant the equipment shop in bazaar.

What I really want to discuss is what kind of help a newbie should get. Well, getting some free gears is definitely good for newbies, I just asked for some equipments in another thread. I just don't think it should become a rule. You are correct, even potions are not necessary. Newbies are able to leveling up and then search gears in the market. When they reach bottle neck, just go the the Ask the Experts! thread.

It is kind to give gears to newbies, but don't treat it as an obligation. Newbies can grow up by themselves. That's all I want to say.
