I'm relatively new here, so sorry if I am not doing this correctly.

What do you guys think of having a post or a couple links at the top describing how to identify good equipment for your playstyle, so that people know what the better things are to look for when looking through the huge inventory list (and so they'll be able to better understand how equipment is important in general as they progress through the game)? There's so much text on how to ask for things and the donation-lottery procedure, but nothing on how to figure out what upgrades might be important.

I'm remembering when I was playing Diablo and new players got so excited when they got a Legendary drop that they equipped whatever it was immediately, even if the item's important stats were worse than many common drops of the same type.

Eg there are still "5 power armor" or similar requests. "Power armor" sounds really cool, so someone might want it even though their character's effectiveness might be increased significantly more just with standard armor/standard weapon with good stats.

If I had the experience, I'd write such a post myself, but I don't, unfortunately. All I know is a few of the basics, such as getting as many primary attributes on your gear as you can, and for melee, using an ethereal or elemental-prefixed weapon (and usually "Of Slaughter") for the significant damage from the extra strike.

don't want to seem rude, but that's not our job. it *may* seem a nice idea, but our purpose is to be a free service that redistribute free items, while support is entirely given by wiki and 'ask the experts'. and besides, i write frequently in that topic, so there's still a link (i remember to have said to some users 'as i told you in the other topic...', 'are you really sure? my advice was a bit different' and so on).
also, as you already pointed out, there's already a huge wall of text, enough to scary many people: many users don't even read request rules (not even the bold parts), they only want a free gear. should i really bother to write another huge poem that nobody will read?
