As for the "first" Anime I watched, I guess it would be Dragonball or Yu Yu Hakusho or Slam dunk. But as for what really "got me into" Anime, I guess it would be One Piece.

I can't remember well what is the first anime I've watched as I can't really differentiate between Western and Japanese when I was a child due to dub as I live in place where English is secondary and tertiary language. I think maybe it was Mospeda and Voltron. But as the anime that really hooked me in, it was Mononoke Hime and NGE.

i guess alot of us could say we've been watching anime since childhood before we even knew what anime was. being one of those 80's kids i cant remember exactly which was my first but it would have to be either Transformers, Voltron, Robotech, Unico, or Speed Racer. when i hit my teens and "discovered" anime it was Sailor Moon. thats all that was on until SCI-FI saturdays and Toonami came along. good times
