It was probably Pokemon but the very first one I watched knowing it was anime was maybe an ecchi show like 11eyes. I remember reading a youtube comment telling me to google "ecchi", and it brought me to some top 10 list of ecchi anime.

...Actually, now that I think it, there was quite a few "cartoons" back in the day that were secretly anime.

I guess the first jumble of japanimation that I watched while fully aware of it would be Dragon Ball Z, Pokemon, Sailor Moon & Gundam.

I remember watching Pokemon and DBZ on TV, but didn't consider them anime shows back then?

I'm not sure which one was my first, but it was either Naruto or Wolf's Rain.

It was either Mazinger, Tetsuwan Atom, or Dragon Ball. Yeah, the one with little Goku.

Wasn't really into anime until Digimon though.

Probably Fairy Tail (first anime I watched after I found out what anime was)

Noozles on Nick Jr. back in the late 80s haha. As a kid, I didn't realize this was anime until much later, I just knew there was something different about it that I loved.

Dragon Ball was my first for sure. then i think i caught inuyasha while up late one night and started my anime journey from there

It's Naruto, but I haven't finished it. The first one in the true sense is Kobayashi's Dragon Maid

Way before I knew what anime was, I was watching stuff on Nick Jr. like Maya the Bee and Noozles and the Litt'l Bits. I also had these adorable Christian anime VHS tapes of Superbook, which is just.. wonderfully funny, one of the cheesiest 80s anime dubs imaginable.
I don't think I really knew things were from Japan til Sailor Moon.
