If speed racer counts then I believe I saw that before anything else, although I never watched it regularly.

Pretty sure the first anime I actually got invested in was Ronin Warriors and Sailor Moon~ Both of which were on DiC fairly early in the morning.

I do remember fondly how Sailor Moon came on at like 9:00am and so I would set my vcr to record throughout the entire day while I was out at school and then come home, fast foward to the spot it was on and then do that every day ;x
