First one I saw was Martian Successor Nadesico when I was like 4.My dad got the entire DVD set and I think it was dubbed in chinese. Couldn't understand a thing but I like it.

Oh god, I think it was Ninja Scroll. My cousin came over and we watched it together well over two decades ago now! He had the most enormous collection of VHS tapes, if he and his family didn't move halfway across the world a few years ago I would have gotten a picture sometime to post here. It truly is magnificent.

Pokemon as a young kid and Dragon Ball when I was a preteen. I remember as a kid having no frame of reference for what a cohesive story line was ( having only watched episodic western cartoons on Nick) so I was blown away when I realized that every episode of the Pokemon anime built upon itself. That was really unprecedented for me at the time.
