Mine was Pokemon, though I didn't pick up on the poor use of game knowledge, so I went into the games with veeeery bad habits like thinking Rock types were also immune to Electric types or Ghost Pokemon were stronger than Psychic types, not knowing that the Gengar line were Poison too and therefore weak to Psychic moves with no Ghost moves to use on them. Darn you, Pokemon anime! xD

It was subtitled in a language I could barely understand. I watched it at the age when I could barely read, yet I enjoyed the hell out of it, enough to keep watching all 100+ episodes despite barely understanding what it's about.

Technically, Pokemon, YuGiOh, etc. But FLCL was my first really anime anime. But, randomly seeing Hellsing Ultimate on some random channel caught my interest in the medium for sure.

Saint Seiya and City Hunter.

Well, technically I had seen the odd episode of Grendizer, Astro Boy or Captain Harlock (or pieces of episodes, at least), but Saint Seiya and City Hunter were the first one I could watch regularly and from the start of the series.
