Because I didn't know what anime was back then, I'll rule out Naruto and DB.

The first anime I ever saw that really got me curious on what anime and manga was and so pursue them to how I am today, would have to be Black Cat

I fell in love instantly with how the intro was, and the characters. Plot was confusing a bit as a kid but, the magic was real.

Then it ended and I was like "noooooooo ):"

Zoids, specifically the English dub, which was on Sky One some years back. I remember me and my brothers actually setting alarm clocks specifically so we could catch it at 8am on the weekends.

i remember in the early 90's, sci-fi channel showed the occasional anime movie. I watched Vampire Hunter D and was hooked ever since

I used to watch a lot of Toonami growing up but I never was really into anime until I saw the dub of Panty&Stocking. After that I really go invested.

Accel World is the one that got me to watching subs since the dubs were half finished when I was watching
