Neon Genesis Evangelion. Just by chance they had the first 2 VHS Volume Releases at Blockbusters. I ended up buying the entire VHS set used for $90.

Offhand I remember as a kid I watched Dragonball, Pokemon, Digimon, Card Captors, and Sailor Moon. I couldn't fathom which one I saw first.
