Anime snuck into Germany mainly via MTV - series and movies played as late as 2:00 at night, so I came across them by accident and was extremely hooked without a chance for reprisal.

As for the first one, I can't QUITE remember if it was Golden Boy or Escaflowne - but I still intensely like them both.

Followed up later with Record of Lodoss War, Ranma 1/2 and a slew of very graphically explicit horror/action one off movies that scarred me for life. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
