Dragonball Z was the first anime I remember seeing. Still enjoy a couple of their movies and certain episodes every now and then.

Neon Genesis Evangelion. I remember walking in on my best friend's brother watching it, it was the scene with the multiple Rei clones in the tanks. I sat down with him and started watching parts of it. From then on my friend and I would pretend to be Eva pilots and beat each other up in her yard. I watched it in full a few years later.

The first one where I actually knew it was anime was either Bleach or Elfen Lied. The actual first anime that I watched was Yu-Gi-Oh!
