dragonball and sailormoon

Didn't know they were anime in the past, and always wondered why their eyes were so big and weird.

Teknoman was also just fucking awesome.

Yeah Technoman/Tekkaman Blade was awesome. However when the sequel and movie came out the presenters on Cheeztv basically said that they will never show the series ever again and to stop asking them to put it back on morning tv. I recon they got the series cheap not knowing too much about it. It was only watching the movie and the second series years later that I realised that the first series probably wasn't a kids show originally.

They took the theme of transformation possibly a bit too far for a kids show. Whilst there was only one transsexual character in the first series (more in the Japanese version), the second series had multiple including the weirdest love triangle ever. Whoever had the idea of editing a seinen series to market it as a kids show was brilliant. hahaha. Even with a third of the series edited out, the English version was still a lot darker than a lot of the other usual shows.

The main character kills his uncle in the first episode, yep best kids show ever.

Astro Boy. I didn't even know about "Anime" until much later. Maybe Dragon Knight or Devil Hunter Yohko were the first ones I watched knowing what Anime was.

The show that actually got me into anime... Well, I'm sure no one else has the same one as me.

Not counting the big shounen long-runners...

The one that really made me love anime was Kodomo no Jikan. I watched it when it first came out, I loved it, and then I started looking into more anime, and... well, that's pretty much how it started for me.

There were probably three sources of anime when I was a kid.

Agro's Cartoon Connection
Robotech, Samurai Pizza Cats and Voltron

Cheeztv
DBZ, DBZ GT, Sailor Moon, Card Captor Sakura, Technoman Blade

SBS Anime
The presenter was awesome his catch phrase was always talking about the best things in anime being mecha, tentacles and violence especially all at once.

NGE, Patlabor 1-3, Bubblegum crisis, AD police, various tentacle based shows, and a quite a few movies, like lupin the 3rd castle of Cagliostro, Akira and Ghost in the Shell.

Chinese-dubbed Doraemon that I watched on VHS, closely followed by either Digimon or Sailor Moon.
