Evangelion and Patlabor when I became a proper fan.

Oh well, the first anime I remember watching was dragon ball in jap audio.

Pokemon. That was even before I knew what anime was and just called it a cartoon.

Well the first anime that got my attention was Star Blazers in 1982,then Voltron came along and I began to search out these "foreign" cartoons,got into Tranzor Z,Captain Centella and the like but Robotech went and made me a fan of Japanese anime.

That was 1986 and I spent a good few years being frustrated trying to find more until 1992 and things like the original Dirty Pair movies came out and others like Vampire Hunter D,Project A-Ko,Lupin,Robot Carnival and all that flooded the US.

Been a hopeless mess since (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) I watch/read more anime and manga then live action films,and the majority of live action is sci-fi or super hero movies.

Of course my FIRST taste of Japanese entertainment was Godzilla and Gamera,I first saw Godzilla in 1979 and that got me going on liking Asian stuff...of course being part Asian myself probably helped that along.

Man, I was pretty young at the time for my uncle to be giving me a movie with three graphic decapitations. I think one of the characters got raped, too.

Pokemon or DBZ was the "first." Haruhi was the first one I actually downloaded (dub, lol) and got me into anime. Lucky Star might have been my first subbed anime... yes, I think it was.

I didn't know it at the time, but Howl's Moving Castle. I was ignorant of anime back than.

Saint Seiya, on a Brazilian TV channel. No clue which channel it was as I was a kid and didn't care, neither i understood portuguese well enough to figure it out. Thanks to Saint Seiya I speak some portuguese now. LOL, has it not been dubbed I would speak a little jap instead.
