QUOTE(Anomtai @ Nov 17 2013, 11:46) I've just finished the icons for elemental damage mitigations. Can you tell which icons are for which mitigation? Not all of them. I have to be pretty skeptical about this, I really doubt this will do anything to reduce the language barrier. With a lot of these icons, it's very difficult to tell what they represent if you don't already mean. Furthermore, some have meanings specific to western culture, so while their meaning might be obvious to you, they might not be obvious to everybody.

I've made some modifications. I tried putting lightning into the electric mask. But electricity is a bitch to represent on this scale. I may decide to abandon the helmet icons in favor of emblematic shield icons instead for mitigations. I haven't made the crushing and penetration icons yet, and I'm not sure how many people outside of America will recognize this.

They look a lot better (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) But I still can understand the green icon as either a wind mitigation (because it's green) or as an electric mitigation (because it looks like a rubber mask). The same can be said about the wind mitigation: it can be an electric mitigation icon because it's yellow or a wind mitigation because it's a windshield (or a power ranger). I played with the colours a little: QUOTE(Anomtai @ Nov 18 2013, 02:05) and I'm not sure how many people outside of America will recognize this. Don't worry, that's shredding (slashing) mitigation. And I'm in Europe.

Are you say that they would look better if we swapped them? All the mitigation helmets are made specialized real life safety gear. Fire is a fire helmet, cold is an arctic hood, wind is a motorcycle helmet and electric is a sci-fi helmet because electric safety gear looks too much like hazmat gear. Holy is something I threw together out of existing icons because I didn't know what to search for on google while Dark is pretty much the same case. Fun fact: Not that it matters now, but soul mitigation does have an icon. It's an astronaut staring at a galaxy. This post has been edited by Anomtai: Nov 18 2013, 06:48

Why dun just put a shield icon next to the elements' symbol to represent specific mitigation? For example, for fire mit: It should be simple and clear.

QUOTE(Anomtai @ Nov 18 2013, 04:33) Ops... sorry, I think I have misinterpretted your icons in the first post. Mostly because on the HV right pane the order of mitigations is: fire cold elec windholy dark So I assumed that the top one (in the quoted pic) is elec and the bottom one is wind.

Damnit, really? I could have sworn I looked that up before making the image. Okay, now that they are in the right order, what do you think of them.

Apologies the super late reply (I'm aware of how feedback is important in such matters), I was super busy. Nevertheless, I'd say that the icons look pretty good: they're consistent (i.e. all follow the same helmet theme) and have intuitive colors according to the mitigation they represent.

These are all the icons that currently exists within the attributes folder. This is "status" update to show you how complete it currently is. These are the icons you would find on an equipment's pop-up window between the potency level and the current owner. Note that physicalDAMAGE.png is just a catchall placeholder and that attackDAMAGE.png is most likely getting replaced as soon as I think of something better.

BCB in my opinion.
Btw, why I'm the only one posting on this thread? No one else would like to see icons in HV?

Fun Fact, Mace C is a photomanip of this. Anyway. As for icons in HV, implementation is most likely going to be multi-tiered. I'm thinking of now focusing on icons you would find in the Equipment and Item shops, and hope that can be the introduced by .78 or .79.

Apologies, I'm not the only one posting here. Colman's here as well QUOTE(Anomtai @ Nov 22 2013, 02:04) implementation Had I a month off work I might play with scripting, i.e. I believe that a greasemonkey script will be the most probable form of adding the icon to HV. Here's an example using data URL encoding (the image is contained within the script itself):
equip_icons.user.js.zip ( 1.08k )
Number of downloads: 5It adds the sword icon you made to the show equip screen (i.e. when you press "c"), but it adds it to ALL equips. I'd love if Tenboro would add some ids and classes to the <div>s in the HV screens as, right now, the only way to figure out the equip types is by matching it's name. Also, I'm not promissing to write a script for it, at least not this year. I already promised too many scripts to too many people on this forum that I haven't yet found time to finish.

Neat! That's actually suppose to be a lance to represent piercing damage but still neat!

How about placing the hand/ finger portion of "B' on "A", then enlarging "A" slightly?
