Thanks for your answers! Sending karma to both of you (well, one of you will have to wait till it's replenished) (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif) QUOTE(Scremaz @ May 2 2014, 14:17) ADB is obviously important, but you don't need to have max if you have good PA procs an elemental strike is always welcome, not really needed to go for ethereal: since you'll have high BUR anyways, you can bear with 7-10 more points. moreover, remember the cure bonus for hallowed (for example, i'm currently running this one, which boosts about 1000HP at every cure out of my 6k base and global 13k tank) I forgot to add that I'm playing full-shade so I prefer to go for an ethereal one, unless it's more intesting/easier to go for an elemental one and enchant it everytime I wanna use it. QUOTE(Scremaz @ May 2 2014, 14:17) as for PABs, i may be wrong but DEX seems to me a bit more important than STR (especially if counter-attack and overwhelming are already high enough). AGI will be needed almost only to raise attack speed, since evade is almost 0 anyways; END may be difficult to have, but i'd definitely search for it more than AGI because HP bonus, PMI, MMI... I think STR+DEX are the most important too, but AGI has its importance too for a light user like me, so I think I need the 3 PAB (the more DEX the better). QUOTE(Scremaz @ May 2 2014, 14:17) however, i didn't really expect that, but axes with high ADB are really viable too... I'm planning to give it a try too, later (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif) I have a demonic one waiting and also this ethereal one from my DW set. QUOTE(Scremaz @ May 2 2014, 14:17) yep. iirc many people say that 1H+shade would be more viable than 1H+power, but in that case you'd have high evade, which may interferee with counter chance, and you may need OFC too. i tried it a couple of times but soon re-switched to power (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) OFC... I thought I'd manage to get at least a third of the needed 21 ponys by the time I reach lvl 300, but I only got 4 figurines so far... Takes me weeks to gather a megacredit, so I'm not sure it's my priority. I prefer to go for LoTD, max Adept Learner or even get IA2 or VV. QUOTE(malkatmp @ May 2 2014, 14:27) tried it once, the extra parry & lower burden are great, but not enough damage. also, nowadays, rapiers are more expensive than axe. don't quite understand what you mean, but 1H+leather/shade, can maintain constant spirit stance. i might try that later, however, it's harder to find a good shortsword than a good axe/rapier. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) that buckler is pretty nice for now, but you might want to switch to a force shield for more block & mitigations. Are those 5-6% block and 2% mitigation more really worth the crazy interference?

Time to create a sprite monster called In Memory of Dark Loli (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/duck.gif)

imo, OFC is a pretty good upgrade that stays with you forever. 17ponies @75k each= 1.275mil credits. maxing Lotd will defiantly pay off, however, iirc, Lotd 19 cost ~1.2mil credits. between that and OFC, i'd get OFC. while lvl fast is great & adept learner is a cheap upgrade, but imo, hving 80+ stamina + doing stuff @PF is lvling fast enough. IA2 is another good thing to get for 100haths. VV is also nice, but 250 haths is a lot. lastly, mana isn't really a huge problem, so that interference isn't a huge problem & that 5-6% block is worth it. QUOTE(malkatmp @ May 2 2014, 18:52) reporting back for DW (Axe/Axe) + Leather which turns out okay, but much much slower compared to 1H+power. did a few RE@PF. a few times with 10 mobs and didn't die once. potentially, if i've more DW prof, i'll have about the same amount of Dmg between those 2 styles. however, Axe/Axe Leather is not as safe or as powerful to 1H+power. cons-leather is not that much lighter than power gear & Axes are heavy. total of 54 burden vs 75 burden. -traded in ~42% block + 15% parry for 14% evade + 35% resist. -much slower overcharge buildup & not in constant spirit stance make things a lot slower. -you gain about 10%in crit% & 19% in attack speed, but 10% less in slashing/piercing miti. though, 10% more crushing mitigation. -slashing/bleeding are not that good compared to stacking piercing damage + counters. you'll need to spam imperil to make things a bit faster. pros-53 interference instead of 133 interference which saves a LOT of mana. -Cheap. if you're satisfied with Mag quality Leather. you can start doing RE@PF for <60k credits (Weapons + Full Leather). though, a Rapier of Balance for offhand will be much better than a second axe. ~300less dmg, but 10% more offhand hit%, ~5 less burden, 3% more evade & 19% more parry. ps. i went a little crazy and brought some Leg Leathers for 20-65k each. 1. You've got to reduce that burden, say, use featherweight shard or ethereal. 2. No way in HV can Leather + Dual Axe with such burden be even close to 1H + Power. Heck Ethereal DW + Shade is still a little if not more risky than 1H + Power. Though, DW is more if not a little more deadly than 1H in terms of killing single target. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/duck.gif) 3. Axe was never good to be used as offhand cuz: -Axe doesn't give parry, no parry bonus. -Offhand should have Balance/Nimble suffix but Axe has neither. -Under the same roll, the accuracy of Axe is slightly more than half of that a non-balance Rapier and 40% of a Balance suffixed Rapier. Such low accuracy leads to lower offhand strike chance, less DPS. -And don't forget, damage of your offhand is halved. With that the difference of damage between Axe and Rapier becomes even closer. My current DW stats in Club: (4466 Atk power/44.1% crit. chance if using Axe) And I want to note/ask for a little comparison between 1H+Power and DW+Shade. These are what I can notice. 1H+Power > DW+Shade: - Better PMI, has block at the cost of having low evade chance. - When there are many mobs. 1H can still deal damage through parry/block counter attack without having to heal too often but DW can't. - OC piles up faster than DW, in a very fashionable way, counter-attack. - Good for all kinds of runs, at average~excellent speed, at any difficulty. 1H+Power < DW+Shade: - Better evade, speed bonus and critical (from light armor ability) at the cost of ZERO block chance and ZERO piercing mitigation. - When there are less mobs and mobs have huge HP pool. With infusions most SGs die in ~15 critical hits at IWBTH difficulty. - Able to stun when using Club as mainhand. (Generally, nobody's gonna use 1H Club right!? RIGHT!?) - Good for SGs but bad for the rest. At low difficulty DW is overkill. 1H + Power seems to be doing better than DW+Shade. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) Well hope you guys don't turn this topic into a war. QUOTE(Evil Scorpio @ May 2 2014, 01:18) I double that statement. SoL is better ON than OFF. Especially if you can afford it.
QUOTE(hentai_fusion @ May 2 2014, 02:31) go for SoL
Really, do both of you still use SoL at all times? I've never used it except in RoB and the final round Boss fights in the Arena. Maybe because I have used SoL so sparingly but I've never seen it trigger even once.

It hardly triggers for me too if I actually pay attention to my HP but sometimes I get too hyped up hitting mobs using BetterMelee script. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/blush.gif) This post has been edited by kos9494: May 2 2014, 18:42

(IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/blush.gif) Same here, I also use SOL all the time ^^' First, I absolutely need it for RE, since I very often get one-shot in the beginning if there are more than 3-4 overkill monsters like Memories Of. Then for PF, I need it as a precaution, because shit can happen quite fast in 2/3 strikes if I'm not careful (like forgetting to recast SS), and even at BT & IWBTH I prefer to have it on because shit can happen when it's starting to get crowded and you get to face all those monsters feeded by catgirls. And because I'm too lazy to always go tweak shit in the setting before every fight, I prefer to let it on (because from time to time I'm gonna forget to put it back when I need it most >_<). PS: and I HATE losing, SOL's like rewinding mode in Prince Of Persia, it's the perfect cheatmode (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) This post has been edited by catdrag0n: May 2 2014, 18:56

about my theory on estoc + agile leathe/shade + FRD: i tested it out with this shit estoc + FRD + my shade set, but replaced a few pieces with shitty agile leathers for more attack speed. i also played around with my DW set to see how much attack speed you need to make a loop work on PFUDOR. -equips above are not good enough to play on PFUDOR, but they can make their way through a 48 round IWBTH IW, albeit slowly(with 3x PA i can only get ~7k damage with my estoc. and that's if i score a crit (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) ). -on PFUDOR you need ~24% attack speed to get a guaranteed extra turn or two after FRD cooldown finishes which should get you ~80% OC. every other difficulty is ~19%. your results may differ. -the toughest mobs were dead after 3 rounds of FRD on IWBTH. -if you do anything beside FRD again after stun runs out, you will more than likely die(a bunch of monsters w/full MP and SP bars = death, especially on PFUDOR) -you still need to fill your OC gauge at the start of the arena/fest/IW to make sure you always have enough to make this work -ideally this will work best with agile shade of whatever(it won't matter since enemies won't be hitting you anyway), but agile leather of protection should work fine. mixing the two won't matter much either. tl;dr: if you have a forged slaughter estoc + some agile leathers/shades lying around, put them on and go nuts with FRD (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) will post again later after i try out with this longsword borrowed form scremaz.
