well apparently there's some huge troll group running around getting tumblrs deleted and giving out fake C&D's to artists by claiming to be Hasbro. They almost got the new pony doujin shut down, but the artists are too smart to fall for that stupid shit, they contacted Hasbro directly and asked if the C&D was real, Hasbro didn't even know about them.

I hate that people feel the need to self-censor themselves even in the company of surly adults with sailor's mouths. If you wanted to say fuck, go ahead and say it. I swear, we're all okay with it. It's actually less offensive than insulting our intelligence with a half-hearted attempt to be politically correct.

Honestly, I just hate the concept of individual words being offensive. People can say and do some intensely vile things in broadcast media without repercussions, but if a single word from a list of banned words shows up in an otherwise innocent comment, that person could lose their job. For fuck's sake, people, save your high-horse righteous indignation for when somebody is actually assaulting the things you care about. A stray Fuck-bomb is not going to ruin your day unless you let it, and it definitely won't twist the minds of your kids. On the other hand, they bear witness to heinous, disgusting vitriolic bile being spewed by hateful bigots, and purposely misleading propagandist advertising brainwashing messages from self-serving liars in the media all the time, and you're perfectly content with it.

Aside from all that, there are a ton of genuinely disturbing situations that are deemed perfectly acceptable to be portrayed in fiction on prime-time. Any parent who doesn't want swearing on television but is fine watching Bones or Criminal Minds with their kid sitting there is fucking broken.
