They uh, actually do. While they don't directly make a person violent they raise the triggers inside a person to critical levels and extended playing makes them more short fused. Basically video games really are and addictive rage causing drug, but it's still the guy that slams a dudes head against the pavement a dozen times fault for not controlling himself better. Just because beer makes you act stupid doesn't mean it's not you're fault.

The part which I agree is the fact that videogames & other media brings some influence towards people's mind
but it doesn't change them, at least not the rational ones. And if someone is unbalanced & acting stupid, it's
because that person born stupid & will die stupid.

You don't have a link to some evidence on that, do you? Unless somebody actually did a study of people playing videogames while hooking their brains up to electrodes, I'm inclined to think this is little more than speculation from somebody who wanted to make the anti-games argument seem more cogent. Of course, I've been wrong before.

MMM, writing a paper on it for college, unfortunately my campus only lets you read their resources online if you're a student, but two or three that I've read say that violent video games not only make you more aggressive in the short term (they did a before and after brain scan) but with long term exposure it causes you to be more likely to respond with anger. This doesn't mean that playing CoD for a few hours makes you a sociopath murderer, but it does mean that you're more likely to scream curse words. Anger =/= violence.

That kind of makes sense. Of course, they might just be angry because a small part of their subconscious realizes CoD really just isn't that good.

Maybe indulgence in violent fantasies to blow off stress actually just encourages our minds to generate more stress afterward. I don't think we're going to see definitive work on this subject for a while, but I'd definitely suggest people have a variety of hobbies. Over-indulgence in any one thing can be pretty damaging.

Now in a full grown adult (Like, I dunno, 17 and up?) that's probably not gonna make you kill someone unless you're already a psychopath, but in kids...

I would think that games that center around shooting stuff shouldn't be marketed to kids, but preteens seem to be the target audiences much of the time. It's wildly irresponsible at best and outright despicable of them at worst, but then again, maybe we shouldn't trust gigantic soulless game publishers to decide what is right for our kids.

On the other other hand, if a little kid sees a colorful commercial for sugary cereal, how likely are they to stop tormenting their parents until they get that cereal? The parents basically choose between having the child hate them, or getting them what they want and then having the child hate them. It supposedly takes a village to raise a child, so when much of our "village" is more concerned about themselves than our kids, we're kind of just fucked.

The most graphically violent game to precede the creation of the ESRB was undoubtedly Mortal Kombat -- or, to be unnecessarily specific, Mortal Kombat's 'fatalities'. On the whole, Mortal Kombat was a pretty violent game -- definitely more violent that its predecessors in its own genre such as the Street Fighter games. But that on its own wouldn't have caused the controversy it did without the fatality system. Fatalities were a somewhat disturbing concept coupled with very graphic displays; they took place when a player had already beaten their opponent, implying that the match was over and the opponent had been defeated, making the additional violence inherently a bit senseless as it did not have a role in winning the round -- it was almost like an ultra-violent reward for winning. But the true controversy came from what the fatalities were, and how graphically they were displayed. Our cities are overcrowded, there aren't enough jobs and houses for all the people we have already, we don't have enough oil and electricity to move and heat and entertain everyone 24 hours a day, disease and war are prevalent all over the world due in large part to our planet's limited ability to sustain our race, yet some selfish fucking people just want to ignore all the problems in the world and churn out as many fucking kids as possible, as if it somehow makes their fucking worthless existence mean something if they leave a legacy of more shitty people behind after they die. I wouldn't even mind that so much if they could be bothered to fucking raise the little shits so they don't just become the next generation of selfish fucking assholes, but raising the kids would require them to take the emphasis off their own needs for a while.
