Some very bad news about my cat.

I took my cat to the vet yesterday because she developed a small abscess near the base of her tail. She got it from a tiny puncture wound when she was in that catfight a week or so ago.

During the routine examination, the vet felt a mass in my cat's abdomen. I knew right then that it wasn't going to be good news. After the vet drained the abscess, she did some x-rays and it's my cat's spleen that's enlarged and it's pushing her intestines toward the back of her body. All in all, over time it will end up bursting or bleeding into her abdomen and there's not much I can do to save her. The vet said it could be months or it could be weeks.

I know my cat is very old. She's 18 and the vet said that's ancient for a cat, but this is absolutely tearing me apart and I can't take it. She's my baby and I love her so much. Right now she's taking antibiotics for the abscess and she looks good, you'd never know there was anything wrong with her, but just knowing I don't have a whole lot of time left with her is devastating me. Just take care of her as long as you're able. If she's really deteriorating, then it's time to make a decision whether or not it's good for the cat to keep her around. Until then, just spoil her every chance you get :3
