Apparently, it's not a remake, it's a whole new movie which should closely follow the source material.
Not that that's important, I'll watch it just to see Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel viciously pummeling each other.

Then why the **** its using the same name as the arnold movie in the first place? (the orginal novel isnt even named "total recall")

Shameless cash-in, thats why.

People on earth! raise your hands to the sky and give me your energy so when can launch cancer on the anus of whoever came with the idea to do this movie!

Well, to be fair, "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale" would be a rather shitty movie title.

For the same reason they called the (somewhat) recent remake "The Karate Kid" despite the kid learning kung fu in it. It's easier to cash in on residual goodwill toward decades-old original and good material than to generate such material oneself.

Is it just me or has the moogle merchant not been adjusted to the new prices and as a result is giving out a pittance?

So, no comment on this? Nobody else noticing that their items sell for 1/10th the price it did in 1.69?

Depends on the equip. High-quality and rare tier equips do sell more than 0.6.9.

QUOTE(Tenboro @ Jul 29 2012, 16:47) *

adjustments made by primary attributes.

- Since equipment level was a big factor in equipment value, and this is now gone, equipment values have been rescaled to depend significantly more on quality than before.
-- While the base value was increased a fair bit, this means that at higher levels, high-quality shop fooder will generally sell for more than before, while junk will generally sell for less.
-- It does however depend on level - as this conpensates for the missing level factor, lower level equipment should see little or no reduction in value even for junk items.

Hm, do you want 2 choices like "Sell Item" and "Salvage" at the equipment shop? To me, this seems to be a rather odd sight. I rather vote for a new place for Salvage, to lessen the danger to Salvage instead of Enchantment.

Since monsters can parry while Stunned or Asleep, that reminds me of an online game from very long ago (a MUD) that if you cast sleep on the monster, it didn't seem any easier to hit. All that changed was that it would stop hitting you, but it would waken instantly if hit and resume attacking without pause. The makers coded it that way deliberately because wholesale monster defeats meant more inflation kept rearing its head in the game due to abundance of durable items that never disappeared.

Too Long, Don't Read (TLDR):
It would be one thing if sleeping or stunned monsters hid their status by remaining equally difficult to hit (as if they were awake). I remember a MUD where this was the case since the game's coders were jealous of their creatures and players getting items seemed to get them angry as if you were taking actual money from their pockets. Many years ago back then, good playable online MULTI-user games were few and far between, and so players would endure rotten admins and rotten rules and rotten monsters just to have a place to play. Such a game would not survive in today's climate where there are many free to play game alternatives.

I had that game's unique and best weapon in the game which was meant to be impossible to get because you were locked in a battle with the King and Queen where only one single player was allowed to be (all other players kept out by code) and where the NPCs could summon other NPCs from the entire kingdom (all monsters have a x,y location on the map) and the appearance of other NPC would continue continuously without limit as they respawned and moved at the rate of x (as the crow flies, ignoring all walls/obstacles) towards the location of the King/Queen you were fighting. Thus, you had to defeat them quickly or end up fighting a battle in which you had weapons that quickly wore out, armor that quickly wore out, and limited healing due to your char's weight carry limit. It was already obnoxious enough just to get to the point to fight them since that was the final stage of the game's longest and most expensive quest with the toughest puzzles too. If you leave the chamber or quit the game and re-login, the fight will be cancelled and you would have to quest all over again (that special provision was never mentioned). Thus, you had to perform the entire quest in one sitting without breaks since there was also a timer that started when you initiated the quest. Thus, you cannot do part of it, stop the game to eat dinner, and come back. Unlike other long quests, this quest had all sorts of "non-completion" features to it. Heck, imagine if HV required that you proceed to the next round of every sequenced fight (arena, IW, etc) in 30 seconds or autolose, or if you had to perform the next actions of an ongoing fight within 10 seconds or have the monsters getting a free automatic no-miss attack (no evade) even if you had magic spells enabled or armor items that reduced chances of getting hit.

I was the first and last char to beat them since I discovered a loophole in how the King & Queen were protected. That loophole was not meant to exist and would be closed if discovered. At that time, there was an exclusive guild for exclusively elite players. After joining, you had to quest if you wanted a ring, and then quest more if you wanted the ring powered up. One power was the ability to visit the guild room to talk to others or leave a message on a bulletin board. Another was that items dropped on the floor didn't rot or sink into the muck (disappearing forever). So, I laboriously gathered approximately 10,000 healing items and after a zillion trips (weight carry limit and better healing items can weigh more than a greatsword) I dropped them on the floor of the elite guild's main room. I did this after planning and changing my own sleeping pattern so as to play while the game's admins were asleep. Of course, other players could and would take some, but that's why I put so many there to ensure I had some left. I had to work fast because other players might comment to the GM coders (or the GM coders might notice themselves since they also played in the game with their own chars). It was necessary to do so while the game admins were asleep because players often speculated that monsters would suddenly become mysteriously hard to beat or be fully healed up as if admins were there invisibly watching and buffing the monsters while you fought. There was an asinine rule that you were not allowed to complain about the game anywhere on the internet and that complaints can get your char deleted.

I fought the King & Queen and all summoned subjects and narrowly defeated them after using up about 80% of all the healing items left in the guild room. Really, the quest was originally coded to be do-able, but these two admins (having taken the game over from the old crew) had changed various things to make them impossible for anyone but themselves. I point out again that these admins also played in the game with their own chars. That sucks because that means their chars compete against other players. I had documented the path and method and posted it along with screenshots of my success. That way, it could not be easily deleted from me secretly. The various debates on the player boards (public or guild rooms) were carefully worded to not be complaints, but it was clear everyone thought the quest was unfairly difficult since it could never be completed due to the lack of healing items. Just fighting the King and Queen took about an hour and a half of clock time and that is a rough estimate based upon JUST THEM (not counting the kingdom's subjects which were always entering the room to fight you). It really was impossible, so I think it was set up that way just so the admin's chars could do the quest and collect the weapon for one of their chars to use in the game. But I just happened to beat them to it. ha ha.

Due to foresight of having posted so many messages and screens, the admins were trapped into not being able to just delete my char with an unexplained ban (thus freeing the unique weapon). This weapon is truly of Kirito & Asuna (Sword Art Online) class powers; the more you used it, the more powerful and flashy it got. Each kill made the weapon stronger (it got points for each kill, with tougher kills giving more points). The points disappear according to a timer. I documented all this along with the time delays so that the admins could not unfairly change the weapon stats just for me before finding a way to take the weapon back and using it themselves. That way, if they severely nerfed it, they would have to use the same nerfed weapon themselves and would have a harder time of explaining why if other players watched their chars fight, that the weapon seemed to hit so good with flashy effects and success.

That's how unfair admins can be despite claiming how fair and good the game is.

Eventually, the players all left that game and it continued on with only the admins playing it. It really was an unfair game due to the admins being obnoxious and jealous. It's too bad. It was originally a pretty good game when fairly administered without monsters having secret benefits and secretly ignoring status effects. Many players visited the game not just to play, but to chat. At least four real-life marriages resulted from players meeting in the game and then deciding to meet in real-life. Even my city had a face-to-face "get together" of players from that game. Yes, I attended (about 22 people showed up).

Ahh, those were the days being young and without responsibilities other than working at a job. Whippersnappers have it so good since the grass always grows so nice and green for them.

They are stunned. As in staggered. They aren't knocked out helpless on the floor. So you might as well stop harping on about how it doesn't make sense that they can still evade and parry, because they won't stop doing that. Ever.

I just saw that the equipment shop listing has been altered. Before, the weapons or gear of the same kind has been grouped together, now the ones with the same quality have been grouped together. Er, I preferred the old version. It was easier for me to pick the items I wanted. Like a Fine Tempestuous Oak Staff. Now I have to scroll down to the end of the list and see, if there is a Superior+ possible for me to buy. Before, all Tempestuous Oak Staffs have been lined up.

Is it only me thinking that way?

Basically he was playing some game before where admins created an impossible to beat battle which he beat by using a loophole. Which funny enough sounds a lot like the crappy plot of volume 3+4 of Sword Art Online that he also mentions.. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Then perhaps you should change it to staggered, because those don't exactly mean the same thing. Stun implies disorientation (and an inability to react.) Stagger does not.

QUOTE
stun

verb /stən/
stunned, past participle; stunned, past tense; stunning, present participle; stuns, 3rd person singular present

Knock unconscious or into a dazed or semiconscious state
- the man was strangled after being stunned by a blow to the head

Astonish or shock (someone) so that they are temporarily unable to react
- the community was stunned by the tragedy

(of a sound) Deafen temporarily
- a blast like that could stun anybody

QUOTE
stag·ger

verb /ˈstagər/
staggered, past participle; staggered, past tense; staggering, present participle; staggers, 3rd person singular present

Walk or move unsteadily, as if about to fall
- he staggered to his feet, swaying a little

Continue in existence or operation uncertainly or precariously
- the council staggered from one crisis to the next

Waver in purpose; hesitate

(of a blow) Cause (someone) to walk or move unsteadily, as if about to fall
- the collision staggered her and she fell

Astonish or deeply shock
- I was staggered to find it was six o'clock
- the staggering bills for maintenance and repair

equipement listing seems to be more logical that way , (location , type , quality) crude first and superior at the end of the list.

it's was a bit messy before.

Dammit grunty, don't spoil that for me, I'm actually enjoying the anime quite a bit right now. Though my patience is starting to wane having to wait every week and I'm pretty tempted to just go and read the novels.

Don't worry. That won't be part of the anime! It's not even set in SAO but Alfheim Online.
