Story of my life. Celestia forbid you actually have to do maintain a minimum activity level to get a bonus.

I don't mind having to do something, I mind having to do something that has squat to do with the game. The bonus was tied to your dedication to the site and progress in the game- now it's tied to your dedication to the forum, and those two parts are secondary.

By penalized you mean getting 5% more then we used to get for years? 5% is still fucking good for doing nothing.

But anyone who doesn't post in the forums is not going to get 5%, they're going to get nearly nothing. And posting is something. Something that should be irrelevant to the game, just like Karma and Power.

I tend to get sarcastic and snappy in forums, so I avoid them, and thus avoid being a jerk, only using them if I have an issue, and thanking those without that deficiency that help out.

Gaah, I forgot about the spirit points. That's not very major though, unless one posts in places where people will vote them karma, and does so a very large amount.

I fail to see how forcing people to post or be penalized equals "incentivizing the potential for productive use of its forums." Many of the defenders of forcing people to post even encouraged the use of spam threads, despite have apparently been enough of a drag on resources to get the section dedicated to spam shut down.

The Dawn XP is pretty much back to the way it was before the 10% patch. You just get a bonus for posting in the forums now. Just like you get a bonus for making the toplists for being productive in other parts of the site such as tags, uploading galleries, torrents, etc. There are lots of XP bonuses for being active in parts of the site that have nothing to do with the game.

But this one did. That's the issue, it was modified to be tied to your level in game, and now it's not until a hoop is jumped through. A hoop that already renders a separate boost that I was already completely fine with not getting.

I like most of the patch and i dont dislike the entirety of it but as a person who lurks it is interesting to have tied the bonus xp to posts. it doesn't twist my nose out of joint but it was somewhat saddening to see the difference.
I do want to thank tenboro for the effort he puts into this game.

Barely noticed that. It now takes 20 days instead of 10 to level up from mere forum activity. No big deal.

How do you fail to see how that's the case?
Regardless of what other players are suggesting you do it doesn't change the obvious intent.
Besides, who knows maybe after posting in a spam thread you'll stick around and contribute!

Honestly, I think the issue here is that you view diminishing the bonus as "forcing" and "penalizing." Perhaps if you weren't playing as much a few patches ago you might not have noticed the huge boost the bonus gives compared to the old way. Just be glad the bonus is there at all.

It's a FREE creditsink pointless dungeoncrawler with few graphics, no map, endless text enemies and numbers that grow larger on a hentai site where you get FREE PORN.

Maybe you should look into something with a bit more of a FREE BONUS than some numbers called exp, like Vindictus, or something.

Well I haven't played and been on forum for a few months and I get 100 EXP in the dawn event (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
Aside from that, this patch looks kinda promising. I don't miss/ evade/resist happen so often, life as a mage is know much easier.

nice patch for dual-wield,but what about shade?
I think that shade should be buff,too.
