- Due to a widely exploited bug in how salvaged bindings were calculated, required forge exp per level and forge exp given for upgrades have both been increased by a factor of ten, effectively resetting it.
If you want people to report bugs in very quick fashion instead of exploiting the hell out of them, you could always just try something similar to the old flash game "Kingdom of Loathing" if you like?
How they solved the problem for those who don't know was roughly as follows:
If you report a major bug, you get a "Bugfinder Blade".
If you report a bug that could be used to effectively gain infinite stats or currency or something similarly game breaking, you get a "Bigger Bugfinder Blade".
A Bugfinder Blade was a 2H sword that was very shiny, special, impossible to sell or transfer, impossible to obtain any other way, and roughly as good as the best 2H sword in the game you could otherwise obtain. A Bigger Bugfinder Blade was basically the same, but with even better stats than that.
Since not everyone here holds a melee weapon like they did in KoL and it'd be completely nontransferable, you should probably let them have some sort of limited control over the item type they get but otherwise the basic principle is the same.
Hoping that people report exploitable bugs that could give an advantage, simply out of the milk of human kindness, is a losing bet. The carrot and the stick won't get you a report on every single exploitable bug the moment it's first found but I can guarantee you'll find out about the majority of them that much quicker, since only the first to report gets the "carrot", per se.
