I'm trying to go dual wielding all the way, but not really sure if there are better styles for different situations.

There are.

DW rocks for single targets, such as wheen doing the ring of blood against solo bosses.

2-H rocks for doing rooms full of monsters, especially at lower difficulties with a quick browser, where you can just massacre a room in seconds.

And mages......well, they're mages. They massacre a room in seconds as well, and can put out tremendous damage against a single target.
And are way better for doing the long arenas late game at high difficulty, with their mana drain.
They're just a bit squishy and require more micro-management than melees.


And then there is the odd duck out, 1-H, which is more heavily dependant on gear and proficiency than the others, since it's power grows greatly as your block chance goes up.
Unfortunately, custom mobs can get anti-block, making that style far less effective all of a sudden.

One reason for why heavy armor is so good IMO, there is no stat for custom mobs that give them armor penetration. Not yet at least.



Fun story about 1-H.
I normally play at IWBTH, and have been lvling up my DW, where I of course transferred my main one-handed weapon.

And then I switched back to my 1-H set and got into a random encounter, a room full of monsters at IWBTH difficulty.
And was wondering why I was doing such shitty damage.
When I notice I'm doing crushing damage instead of void, and that I'm actually hitting them with my fist instead of my ethereal rapier.

Oh well, still managed to pummel the entire room to death with just my fist, just took a very long time.

Doubt any other fighting style could do the same, with a really shitty weapon.....

2H for me

DW to boost prof, so i can use niten later on. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

I use all but 1-handed

I was using Niten for a while, until I finally read the wiki and found out it doesn't give prof. Now DW.

one handed+shield.. when reach 100 gonna change to dual wielding

2H for arena and DW for RoB.
but trying to use others sometime.

both dual wielding (286.6)and two hand(325)

Dual wielding. Gonna give a try to 2-H.

I use two-handed right now.

scythe is good

but I still think one hand is better of me in this stage
