Sword and Board is pretty good and shield bash seems to one hit things in grindfest but I'm sure 2 handed with domino strikes might be more useful in clearing out everything quickly.

would like to try niten ichiryuu but it is significantly harder to find/buy decent katana/wakizashi.
and by decent i mean something i can't afford.

My play style is a mix of Damage/Survivability coupled with "stun the enemy for a moment so I can recover myself".

I rely a lot on the mace's stunning proc which gives me a few turns to cast HP/MP/SP and other buffing spells which becomes extremely useful in one-time-battles against powerful foes (such as the ones in the random encounters) in highest difficult settings.
